@ Ninad: What is that below the Left Hand RV Mirror, Feels like an assembly for something..??

Yesterday, I read ninad's post on other thread about Eurogrip Tyres... He has clocked 7000 without a Puncture... I thought I have clocked12000+ kms and still no puncture.. I was so happy... only to find a puncture, the same evening...

Now.. I tried to remove the nail, it broke midway.. Some part was still in the tyre.. When the person showed me the puncture's... there were 9 of them all around the tyre ..!! I could not digest it and repeatedly asked for explanations that how this can happen..His answer " When tube is deflated, the tyre moves around the rim ans causes multiple punctures". Hard to digest.. I suspect these were intentionally made punctures so that the customer has to go for a new Tube.. Has anyone come across this thing before?? Is this the new trick used by the Puncture wallas to increase the revenue..?
This is normal dude. Normally when a nail punctures a tube, it creates multiple punctures. That's why if you don't stop the vehicle immediately upon hitting a nail, you have to get the entire tube replaced.

The person who repaired the puncture did not fool you. Relax.
Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)

        No problem.

Consider getting tubeless tyres for your bike. They are much safer when you are riding at high speeds and you hot a nail.

Ordinary tyres do not offer any balance when deflated whereas tubeless tyres can actually continue to do the duty until you can get to a repair shop.

Tubeless tyres are much safer to ride with.

These days many bikes offer tubeless tyres as stock e.g. Honda bikes come with MRF Nylogrip Zappers.

Yes.. that is on mind... These are are stock ones "Euro Grip" ...

The next replacement is to Tubeless...

But I'm happy that it happened after almost a year... Previously I had a boxer.. and every month used to have a Puncture...

          • Just gave my bike for 1st service, and guess what the svc did not have dtsi 1000 oil so they used castrol 20w50 instead, any ways the bike feels more alive now and the engine feels smoother too,the exhaust note is just too good makes me wanna revv it more i got economy of 58 kmpl in city with pillion rider, not bad i would say. Now for the bad, the guys at the svc dont handle the bikes carefully, i can see new scratches on the paint and and a huge horizontal one on the fairing cowl. All in all the bike has become more fun to ride after the 1st service except for the heart breaking scratches .
also they forgot to do the teflon so hav to take it again to svc on friday. Man i hate this imperfection, lots of time i'm unhappy with their job, so i do the work myself (their fitting, finishing, etc...sucks.)
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

              Any idea ???

              Thinking of going to SVC
yea think before you go and waste time with those guys, they wouldnt help much in that case...

can you please specify what you meant by "its like this for last 4-5times" ?

Anyways check how many kms you have covered from your last service to now, engine oil level and more importantly the price of petrol previously 500rs and tank full i.e. 10ltrs and now about 700rs for the same If you still are filling fuel worth 500rs and calculating it would matter...remember santa's joke ? i hope you understand what im saying

Lucky you that they didnt have it ! I have a bad experience with the Bajaj 1000 oil...its thinner than the others and has been leaking through the engine head and places Anyways all this may be the after-effects of the saddlesore run and not just the oil...but the other oils are definitely better than the Bajaj 1000oil...
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

                >>By 4-5 times means, I filled exactly 1 lit every time I get a resrv and checked the ODO for next resrv. And last 4 times it gave me a mil of 49-50.

                >>I have hardly covered 500km from my last service(was done on JAN 13)
                >>Oil level is OK like always(Just a bit over the upper indicator)
                >>The petrol I take is 63RPL

                • 49-50kmpl is not something you should worry about.

Majorly mileage depends on the way you ride and the riding conditions. My bike at times gives me a mileage of 60kmpl and at times even 37-38kmpl

There may be a possibility of the svc guys changing the air-fuel mixture settings at your last service...you could ask them to make it more rich or lean...

                  • Yes R.S.G, Ninad said it right...

Your mileage will depend on your riding style... as I have said before.. I get anything between 58 to 62kmpl in Pune City.

And 50 Kmpl is not a worrying figure, I guess most of us get the same Mileage.

                    Well... Anyone riding Tubeless here..?

Ya 50 ain't a bad number, but 55 to 50 suddenly for last 4 -5 times is what pisses me off.

I am new to biking and to this community too. Got a Pulsar 135 a month back and I got this strange problem.
At night time while driving over long distances with Low Beam it keeps on showing Low Battery. Showed it to a couple of friends who said whats the fuss it's running fine, ain't it.
At the first service, the people over there did not crack it.
Did some googling found out people do have this problem. Is it my driving style, a defect in the model or just something to forget about??

you can change the pilot lamps with LED lamps too...
