Guys, once again done the Chadipur Orissa (approx 300km from Kolkata, total 605km) trip with some of my friends of Rolling Wheels, Kolkata. We start our journey on 21st Jan 12:00 PM and reached home on 23rd Jan eve. Our group consists of two Bullets, ZMA, Avenger 220, Dazzler, P150, P180 and my RTR.
My RTR performed very well on the high way and got approx 43 kmpl after ridding hard almost always above 80 kmph. HID shows its charisma in the dark and made night riding real safe.
Here are some shots for you.sigpic

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone for your responses. I have booked RTR 160 Hyper Edge Matt Grey color. Eagerly waiting for its delivery -expected somewhere on 26th or 27th Jan 2011.Originally posted by sirf_atul View PostThank you guys. I have been going through owner ship reviews of RTR for past 2 months almost on various websites. But it seems the overall experience and views expressed at these sites have not been very encouraging as far as driving RTR with a pillion is concerned. It is a great bike and no offnse to RTR owners, even I like it and that is the reason I have posted 13 posts prior to this just to clarify everything as only one person in my friend circle own apache and mostly have pulsars, hondas etc. As a family person I guess it will not suit me. I regret I will not be the part of the Apache tribe and I deeply regret it. I will try to convince my self and see if i can buy it in next 2-3 days but if i am not able to do so. I will have to compromise and buy P180 the next thing I like in terms of performance and looks.
@nfs_asphalt : Thanks bro for your inputs. I do plan to take a cage
but it (bike) is for my daily commute to office and may be on weekends I will take wifey for shopping et. al. I do give importance to looks...as they say "wafashiyar (the one who is loyal) kai hai, koi hasin(beautiful) bhi to ho".
After listening lots of bashing about pulsars, I had made up my mind to buy RTR and started going through its ownership reviews.
But today...looks like..I am back to square one and will go for a pulsar.
Coz as compared to pulsar cbz, unicorn, hunk dnt look good only rtr did. Having said that I do not mean tht I like a bike purely because of it looks but among equally powered bikes i do choose the better looking one
Thanks again for your responses. Will check yamaha SZ-R also though it hardly comes in 150 cc category compared to competition. If nothing else will settle for a P180, however I am not sure how effective its self-starter will be considering it does not have a kick starter.
There were lots of confusions going on with people talking about vibes, bad comfort for pillion and some RTR puritans even suggesting that it is not to be considered for normal rides unless one qualifies to be a Rossi...however I did couple of test rides of RTR160, P180,P150 and SZ-R and went with my heart that said-it's now or never
Will write more on this later.
Special thanks to nox for providing useful inputs like RD and payload issues. No wonder, I booked the one with RD

A Bad Day
Morning guys..today it seems was a bad day for me
...first my rtr slipped when kept in stand and hit a wall on the side...ofcorse it wasnt that big slope area and used to park there but this time dont know it just slipped...luckily nothing much worse happened..only some scratches on the right handle bar..the scratches are a bit thick but it comes on that handle bar cap(i mean the end there is some black covering na..i dont know the right term for it..) are those parts available to buy
or do I have to live with it...I take care of my bike really well..daily morning I used to get up early just to clean the bike..it has become routine for me..after all this care now this scratch has really fallen on my heart
.... I thought that was the end of such issues..but then when i started riding to office some idiotic crap guys with his crap bike jumped in front of me...I have disc brake...i applied really hard and luckily I didnt loose control even though the bike skid to one side....
...then the same sort of stuff happened again where a van in front of me suddenly cut towards my right without even turning on the indicator...well thankfully nothing serious and I have reached office safely..hopefully no more bad things happen when I return..

MRF Zapper Tyres for RTR 160 HE
Hi guys,
I have booked my RTR hyper edge. The dealer is providing me the stock TVS tyres. I asked him if I can get MRF zappers. He has informed that if I pay Rs. 1500 extra he will give me both MRF zapper typres. Please let me know if its a good deal.
Already my RTR with RD is coming for aroud 72 K and if I go for zappers then it'll be around 73.5K
So, please let me know if it's a good deal.
Cheers
