Just wanted to know... Does the headlight and the Display Backlight, start only after the bike engine has been started?? The Pass switch and the turn signals work without the engine being started. Is this normal?
They won't start because they are not directly connected to battery. It's perfectly normal!!

Just one more thing. My First service will be due in 2 week's time. Just wanted to know whether to use the oil suggested by the service station or get another one myself? Can you suggest any engine oil?

Only a moron would define annoying, obtrusive vibrations as character. Character would be the engine note, the way it revs through 7k rpm, stuff like that.

Can't admit that TVS messed up on the comfort and refinement part when building the bike eh? What, you fanboys get an orgasm with the vibes ?

And i don't see how this is O/T. If enough people decide to do something about it, TVS will fix the problem. First admit that vibes are a problem and not 'character'. Nuff said

Neil, it has been covered to death on this thread already that the stock TVS tyres are crap. It's pretty bad on my FI with the rear disc. Taking high-speed corners is a nerve-wracking experience too. Just switch to new tyres and you will discover a whole new bike.

The obvious choices are the 100/90-18" tyres out there, but Joel, an experienced racer/tuner on this forum, swears by the MRF zapper-C 3.00-18". And the R15 front tyre (80/90-17" zapper-fs i think?)

Anyone used the Zapper-Q ? How does the grip compare with the Zapper-C?

True4u in itself is decent oil..

IRC 110 section(Tubeless) is 1400 bucks, Vee Rubber is 1100-1200 and Geo for 750 bucks.

Earlier the stock TVS tyre would fishtail, lock or screech in any road condition, plain tarmac, semi, concrete, gravel, sand, light drizzle, heavy showers. Any condition and the bike will go its own ways thanks to pathetic tyres.

Switch to better tyres and see the difference, I have used Geo-Cruiser, Vee Rubber and now using IRC tyre on my bike, and never ever had skid or crash due to locked up rear even in light drizzle(which is more dangerous) or heavy rain. Yeah I did skid as I was in thinking something else and used disc on gravel, thats a different story altogether.

CAN U post ur experiences with all 3 tire types u used like price ,how long they lasted
which was best for rain , gravely road ,90+cornering ...etc

                        OT!

dude ..tone down that language. People (majority of them) who ride the Apache dont find the vibes an issue just like people who ride the pulsar dont mind that dtsi clatter. if you have an issue which most in this forum dont seem to have, why dont you take it to the concerned manufacturer?

i am an apache fan boy. but from what i can see, you just want all of us to bow our heads and accept that the TVS Apache has "annoying, obtrusive vibrations ". If that pleases you then we shall do the same. but please tone down that language.

                        PS: Mods, please delete OT.

                        • ^^Sai, u dont need to ask the mods to DEL ur OT. Its just ur answer!
And dear Mr. julianpaul, FYI, I am not any moron. I have rode the Pulsar(V1 DTS-i) to death, opened up the engine(not on my own but with some help) and tried all kinds of nonsense. I now use an R15 and am getting the RTR Fi for my bro. Yeah the RTR has vibes. But then it atleast handles like a dream, starts running as if its ass were on fire from the word go. I could go on and on and on!!! I am not any fanboy of sorts. All I wanna say is, when I say its a character, its not because of a bad product. And I am not by any means a millionaire to throw away money just-like-that(chaltha hai). Also, I would be more than happy, if you show me a bike(made by Indian companies) that does not have vibes. Anything more on this topic might invite flame. BTW, any moron would get an orgasm on the RTR, not because of the vibes, but of the beautiful exhaust note, performance and handling. And if the vibes help, noone compains. Thanks.

P.S: U agree or not, TVS are improving.... A LOT. Their RTR-Fi is a huge improvement over the RTR with regards to vibes, performance et al. And if u feel the vibes as in issue, please dont buy it or ride it. Atleast we as a group of owners, do not mind the vibes.

@Mods: Since Mr. Julian had replied to my post, am doing the same here. Sorry for the trouble. I will not reply henceforth on this.

So are you saying YOU define it as the "character" of the bike?

Dude tone down your arrogance on the post, I have an RTR, have had an Avenger, and an HH Passion... apart from these I also had access to a zillion other bikes... but just the thing that I dont have is an reason to convince you about my fanboy status...

Like you said your parameters for YOU are refinement for me its the acceleration and the handling...

So do you get your orgasms on your dull boring Unicorn\Shine, which has loads of refinement but is insanely boring! or is it the clan of the Ditsy engine?

Oh call me a moron, but I could NEVER do a 180 on the RTR... would be great if you tell me how you did it!

Thats my last post to you... my signature is perfectly posied for ppl like you!
