    Help Regarding Cosmetic Change in Apache RTR FI

    Hi I'm new to this community, I would like to know about the cosmetic modifications which can be done on Apache RTR FI model. The bike was 4 yrs old and has clocked around 30k kms, so now I would like to change the engine oil , i have used Castrol, Tvs, Shell, Gulf and also some LED to the bike, but it has to invisible, I love the lights when the source is hidden and also the Headlight bulb, not interested to HID, so any other options are welcome. show me some light over this topic

      Guys pls help me , and also there is some heavy black smoke coming from the silencer if rewed 6k rpm, kindly need clarification about this, and also I would like to change the stock headlight 35/35w halogen Hs1 to 60/55w H4 bulb, wat it takes to change the bulb, will my bike electtical support this or need to have any relays for that, pls show me some ideas, as I dont have any idea regarding this

        Heavy black smoke shows rich mixture, you need to retune carb.How much on odo btw. No idea about electrical components .

          its a Fuel Injection model, so no carb in my bike

            You'll need to convert your bike's electricals to full DC before you run bulbs with higher wattage than the stock.

              thanks for your reply, is there any way without this as I dont want to cover my bike to DC & also I would like to change the Engine oil, bike has clocked around 30k kms, which engine oil would be best and its price if possible

                I don't know of any other reliable method. I would suggest you not to try other methods because you may get stranded in the middle of nowhere with low battery. Get it converted to full DC. Most of the modern bikes come with full DC. Regarding the oil, I personally have used Shell Advance AX7 multiple times. It's a pretty good performer for its price(~Rs. 350/-). I have heard that Veedol Superswift 10W40 semi synthetic oil is also good. I have no personal experience with it though. Fully synthetic oils offer maximum smoothness, but they are expensive and the oil level dips rapidly in RTR. So it's not recommended.
                Whatever oil you get, make sure that you get it from an authorised dealer, as the market is flooded with fake ones, especially Castrols.

                  Please check your bike's diaphragm.The third problem maybe of the defective diaphragm.It costs around 650-700 INR in TVS SVC.

                  It would be helpful if you could help me with giving me some suggestions/ experiences similar to this which you would have faced and solved.

                  I gave my vehicle twice for service to TVS service, but no use, they never addressed the specific issue.

                          Hi Guys, anyone knows good mechanics for RTR in bangalore. I have got my RTR FI modded into a Carb version. The performance is good but the mileage has dropped. It Needs almost 4 litres to run 100 kms. i am sort of fed up now. I dont have much moolah to throw on the bike. Guide me to someone who i can work along and get to know my bike better as well. As much as i love the bike she has off lately been a nuisance to handle. I want to bring her up to better condition before i can look for a higher cc and powerful bike.

                            I don't know about any mechanic. I would also like to know about one. Regarding the mileage, are you using correct size jet? What's the color of your spark plug? Try re tuning the carb if the mixture is rich.

                              The spark plug is pretty new. The bike is modded to a 225 cc bore and piston. With high lift cam shaft and headwork to match the outflow. Also running on K&N Air filter. Was a FI model before but not converted to a carb version. 30 mm carb on the bike currently. The guy has tuned the bike to a drag setup. All i asked him was to get the bike up and running above 145 kph and bloody it kinda gets stuck at 130 kph. My thinking is more likely to get a 28mm carb and go back to the stock air filter. RTR guys here please help. I dont want to go back to that guy again. He shows big time attitude and doesnt turn up to the shop itself. Probably if i give the bike to him, he will do the job but i wont see my bike for a month or so. He just doesnt deliver on time. Lazy Bugger!!!!

                                I see it's severely modded. I asked the color of the spark plug to get an idea regarding the air fuel ratio. Since it's severely modded, I don't think I can help much. My best advice for peace of mind is to revert to the stock setup. For more info, try posting the same in RTR180 thread. People with hot rodding experience may be able to help you out.
