I own my RTR 160 for the past 2 and half years, and have clocked 43k till date.
My bike was superb,no issues.. But lately for the past 6 months its givin lot of constant niggling issues.
It has to be lot of this or that issues.
Here comes the main part
I usually rip the bike all the time, its always the cluth and throttle playing. I rev it hard all the time, and still the mileage was 45-50
But since the last 6 months my bikes mileage is just 20.
The SVC( where iam very popular, ask satish) guys told that it needs to undergo some head lapppin. But the mileages still the same.
Shown to many mechanics but :-(
I have a HP air filter.......Sinfully sexy, Shamlessly raw, Explicitly Powerful. I'm Da Legend

Does your bike smoke? Does it drink oil? if it does then it think you need to check and change(if necessary) the bore kit!Sinfully sexy, Shamlessly raw, Explicitly Powerful. I'm Da Legend

@moilytushar:
If you want to read any rumours on the RTR220 go to the "more dope on RTR220" thread, this thread is for RTR FI only.Last edited by rennycornelius; 02-22-2010, 12:24 PM.The Magician"

Oil filter bolt gone kaput.
Changed to Veedol super swift oil yesterday. The RTR's shifting is smoother now, and engine runs cooler.
While changing oil filter, upper bolt came out with the aluminium thread of the crank case.
I searched for longer bolt to replace, but was not available in local market. A fellow mechanic suggested me to use teflon tape(one used for plumbing) on threading of existing bolt and refit with lesser torque. i did the same. Now there is no issue of oil leak or so, but i am skeptical to keep it like that.
Options i have are:
1. search for longer bolt and fit with teflon tape.
2. Change to larger thread bolt (That will be M8). by retapping the crankcase hole.
3. fill aluminium welding and retap the hole to same spec.
Any one suffered the issue? please suggest some better alternative. There's lot to it other than saddle....

Re tapping is the simplest and the best solution. I had to do the same on my fiero when same problem had occurred.Originally posted by nox2505 View PostChanged to Veedol super swift oil yesterday. The RTR's shifting is smoother now, and engine runs cooler.
