i know all the carb tuning procedures...what i have done is this
1.warmed up engine....set the idling rpm to 3k...
2.then slowly turned the AFR screw clockwise to make the mixture leanest as possible till the bike tends to stall thats what suppose to happen.but even if i close the AFR screw FULLY the bike wont stall.....then how come its possible to turn the screw anticlockwise 3 full rotations??(3 anticlockwise turns for optimum misture...thats what the tuning method from a blog says.......

^^ Think you are referring to ********** blog na ? think that s a general one but no idea how to get perfect combination , i am just trying to run the bike as lean as i can so that there s no knocks , from factory settings i have set at 1 clockwise turn , at 2 turns it knockssite:xbhp.com keyword -> Google this to dig up stuff in xbhp faster

...i think the carb tuning procedure may vary frm makes of bikes...anyway....finally tuned the carb with alocal mechanic.....he did an awesom job....what he did was entirely different....he tuned the AFR screw fully based on the humming of engine...
now,throttle response is excellent,no misfiring
.....i am not gonna touch the carb anymore......

Venu if this setting is good for you you must know what it is...Try turning the screw clockwise till it stops,and write down the number of HALF turns in your user manual or some place safe.Now turn the screw anti clockwise to the original position...This way in future also you will know what is the correct setting for your bike.Originally posted by venu323 View Postyes i was refering to ********** blog

Today i was literally harassed by TVS SVC.
It happened today,went to the SVC to do a general servicing of the bike.
The SVC is already lacking manforce and hence I had to wait.
Another thing i want to add here is that,the mechanics of the SVC were busy servicing a Bajaj Discover 150.I guess TVS SVC can only service TVS bikes.I was sitting inside the SVC and was just roaming around the SVC and was sending sms to my friends just to kill time,also there were Bajaj spare parts lying inside the SVC.now the SVC manager accuses me of taking photos and tells me to keep my cellphone on his table.I was shocked and tried to explain that I wasnt taking pictures and was just sending sms to my friends.to my agony there was no network of shita$$ Tata Docomo.
kept my cellphone and complied.
Luckily had another cellphone,call my dad and uncle.
SVC manager called the owner.
The wife of the owner came and started looking into my cellphone and I explained myself that I wasnt taking any pcitures.
Later the owner came and he asked me where I was from and what I do.
I complied as I was alone.
The owner said that its ok,dont worry and gave back my cellphone.
Later on my uncle came,before that the owner and his wife left.
My uncle came and he was fuming.
The owner apologised to me,but my uncle insisted that i should lodge an FIR in the nearby police station.
i said,No need to drag this thing around.
I took the bike for general servicing and just wanted to sort out the noise coming from the gear which is attached to the One way clutch.
well in the end nothing was done.
still noises are coming from the one way clutch area.
My uncle then asked the SVC manager that where is the sing saying that Photography Is Prohibited?
He was mum and later on he was apologising.
Now, should I send an email to TVS?
How can a TVS SVC,service a bike of other manufacturer?
I dont wanna get into any police thing.
Actually i felt bad for myself that I went to that service center.
Well the bike is having reg number of Siliguri.
Well one thing is for sure that I will never go to that SVC again.
I feel helpless and frustrated.
It feels,that I should sell off the Bike.

.....but i dont have the dare to touch the carb once more
....coz it was me who screwed the carb tuinig although the carb tuning of my bike was real bad...

Guys,
Today checked the sparked plug for the low mileage in my bike( RTR FI). The tip of the spark plug has turned to black colour ( changed spark plug before 4k kms). I think i was running too rich. Pickup is normal, had concern only with mileage.
Can I adjust the mixture on my bike or should i get tuned in service centre only ??Accidents hurt - safety doesn't

Did you or SVC tamper the stock setting of the carburetor ? If so then you better get it done at the SVC..When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.
