Bring this to the notice of the SVC guys. If the rusting is heavy they would change it U/W. If not they will make a note and change it in a later stage when the rusting is high. But you will have to keep pushing them for the change! I got mine replaced @ 33k kms. But i showed them the rusting problem when the bike was around 22k kms.

30k kms or 2years whichever is earlier. This was for old RTR's. Am not sure if things have changed. Better check your manual book.

In my case, rusting was severe.

Well for me its just starting stage. Not much.
Maybe I will wait for some more time until it becomes too much visible & then change it...

Thanks for sharing the pic which really gave me an idea of how long I should wait.
Anyway as of now mine isn't that worse so I think I will wait a little more time..

Common in all bikes. My R15's silencer also started rusting so I tried getting it powder coated but the paint doesn't stay due to the heat.
Donno how to make it stay!

Mine was changed U/W! Not sure abt the latest price, but from what i heard last time, a new RTR silencer would cost around 5.5k

Dont remember the exact costs, But roughly RTR speedo costs around 2.5k, Tail light assy is around 1.4k and chain guard is around 70-80rs!

Is it mandatory or a rule that to change silencer (or say any parts that can be changed u/w) under warranty should be done from the very dealer you brought or can it be changed through any dealer???
