Rahul this is a great effort. but who is taking this project is this private or what? i dont think that RE is comming up with any thing of this sort. and regarding the measurements. prepare a list go to the nearest store for the RE spares. pay them 500 rupess and take as much of measurements you want. i am sure that doing it with odd things like a 100 rs note or a pen and this is not the rite way to do it.
no offence ment but this is very missleading and it seems just a fun sake post|NO WHEELS|

mate, we are tryin to do it by all means, and i should asure that there shouldn't be any stone unturned ! well 100 rs note trik i learn it form the classified cold file in the cold war of CIA & KGB. it is not perfect but still help us getting idea in case of emergency, or if we compair the two parts between TB and STD bullets. just visit this thread "building v twin 850cc " and plz take a look and page 2 there are some snaps and u will come to know the gravity of this project. i understand doubt in u r heart. but some of us are not only thinking out of the box they have courage to do it, rest of ppl sit on shore and count the waves.Originally posted by desideep View PostRahul this is a great effort. but who is taking this project is this private or what? i dont think that RE is comming up with any thing of this sort. and regarding the measurements. prepare a list go to the nearest store for the RE spares. pay them 500 rupess and take as much of measurements you want. i am sure that doing it with odd things like a 100 rs note or a pen and this is not the rite way to do it.

Bike dies at idle when electricals switched on
Hi,
for the last 3 weeks, my bike's electricals have gone weak. Horn does not sound unless the engine is revved, and lights are also dim (I am talking DC circuits lights: instrument lights, rear lamp, indicators). Also, if bike is idling, and electricals are switched on (say, horn plus indicators plus brake light), the engine dies immediately.
So, problem is that at idling, electricity supply is not enough.
Why is this happening? Bike is CI, Dec '09 model. Battery should be good. Is this a battery problem, or alternator?

DO check your battery.. Don't assume it to be good..Mine needs frequent topping up with distilled water, which I do with local auto-electrician..
Apart from that I had weak/defunct horn and not-blinking indicators.. Horn replaced under warranty and RE ASC identified the indicator problem as that of wiring kit..Expecting replacement in a week or two...

Like ramamoorthyh pointed out, check your battery. Also, i was facing the same problem. My battery wasn't charging while the engine was on, took it to the SC and they replaced my tail light as it was of higher wattage than what the bike's electricals could handle. They changed the same, working fine since then.Originally posted by shobhonroy View PostHi,

Advice Buying
Hi, I am planning to buy an RE Electra 350cc. I have always been fascinated by RE whatever model it be, to the extent I never used to even race against an Enfield and give it way immediately
. I have never driven RE before so need your advice on few things.
People includ. mechanics are suggesting that I should go for the older version of Electra rather than the new Twinspark as it doesn't have the "Feel" of an RE. New model is already way above my budget (50K-60K). But if its better than the previous version, then i can wait for some more time.
Also, is it suited for a short highted person?? I am 5'7, average built. Though I am planning to join a gym soon so that my dream machine doesn't feel odd coz of its owner
. Right now I own a Pulsar 150 older version, along which I could even run, when it used to breakdown
.
I also read on a few blogs that, in heavy traffic, gear shifting is a pain, as keeping the clutch pressed for too long kind of freezes d gear. So you can't shift from 5th gear to 2nd gear directly.
Please advice me on the above issues. Thanks

Ya, go 4 da older version if u find 1 in gud condition ... if u dont mind tinkering wid it. It wil giv a betr ride, betr thump, betr torque etc etc ...Originally posted by ankitkhosla View PostHi, I am planning to buy an RE Electra 350cc. Da uce 1 too is okie ... but i prefer da older 1 cos of, amongst many things, its character.
1st time im hearing about gear freezing cos clutch is pressed too long !! 5th 2 2nd?? dats easy. but id rather do it frm 5 to 1.

Dont give a damn about mechanics' opinion of bullets. Most of them are worried about 'maintainance-free' bullets and advice customers against them. Anyway your budget dictates going for used CI or AVL.. If you go for used CI bullets, prefer models later than 2007 as these bullets are require no day to day maintanance except routine oil change. This blog will give more details about how to buy a used bullet
Tips Advice *How to Buy Royal Enfield* Used Second Hand
I am 5/6" and weigh 60kgs and am very comfortable riding my Std.
It is better to reduce gear or come to neutral when stuck in traffic. This is applicable to all bikes, not only to bullets. Coming from 4th to neutral is very easy in STD as it is equipped with a unique lever ..
all the best

Thanks friends for sharing your valuable suggestions to the fellow RE owners or bike enthusiasts. You are doing a wonderful Job.
To all the Bullet Guru's and xBhpians,

Now that i am earning on my own i have decided to fufill my dream by going ahead and booking the Bull ! Friends spare some time with me in providing some insight about the Bull i booked i would be more than Happy with any kind of info provided to me.
My rides include like Pulsar 180 cc (Present), Honda Shine (Present), Bajaj Boxer (Sold), RX 100 (Sold), Suzuki Samurai (Sold). But never i have ridden a Bull before so thats why i am tensed.
