      • ^^ not really, bullets can take a lot of abuse. just be sure to wash her properly when you get back, and get everything oiled/lubricated by a good mechanic.

To all bullet owners/ prospective buyers

RE has launched or re started a limited supply of the STD model with the old engine in punjab, haryana and UP. So this is the last time you will be able to buy the STD bike brand new.

i doubt its for sale in Tier 1 cities.

As jd666 said, clean her on your return. do open the side boxes and clean insides also. apply a coat of wax. I use Formula One car wax. It will last ~ 2 months. Actually parking the bullet inside a cover for long duration will cause rusting due to retention of moisture inside the cover.

On the rear mudguard below the seat and above the tail lamp assy. I did nt go looking for. In my line of work I have to surf eBay a lot and one of those days I found it on eBay and ordered it impulsively . Maybe I would ve got it a lil cheaper on JC rd but this saved me the hassle of goin there n looking and all. Just sat on me office PC on a thursday and ordered with 2 clicks and Voila on Monday it got delivered home

BTW @KA18 any news on your bike? It s nearing it s deleivery date na!?!

                One more question -

Is Classic 500CC of RE is BS-3 compliant or BS-4 compliant?

                  • Fog lamps, anyone?

Hi, I'm thinking of fitting two fog lamps on my Std 350 - '09 model. I asked the mechanic, and he said: yes, no problem, the battery and alternator will handle the load easily. But I am not convinced - the alternator can barely manage the existing electrical loads. Will it work, or do i have to get a bigger battery, bigger alternator and new regulator-rectifier?

                    • ^^ im running a 50w autopal night crasher on the battery. But i switch it on only when im cruising above 70, so the battery is being charged, and the alternator can take the load as well. Though it does kill the horn( they dont honk at all, only whine a bit ).

                      • Hmm... 50W added to the existing 35W or 45W - should be very effective, then. Is your bike kick start, or ES? I am not sure whether my small 5AH battery will take the load or not.
Yes, my mechanic was also saying he'll connect the fog lamps to the battery, not the alternator.

UR motorcycle should b able 2 handle it ... but barely. I fitted 2x70w fog lights on my E5S which has a total output of 197w(?), when I turn the fog lights on, the headlight dims a little. So, I just use it only to bring down the jerks who always have their headlight at high-beam. I also have a single 70w foglight on the legguard which I use more regularly while on long runs. The single does not affect the headlight.

Andy, I guess yuor bike is ES, and hence has bigger alternator and battery.
What I will do is fit two fog lamps, and then experiment with bulbs of different wattages. Let's see how it goes.
