Hi all,
I own a 2006 500 cc CI , with electric start. I am fed up with sprag clutch conk off. I have already changed 2 times, which breaks down within one year. Otherwise, is a problem free vehicle.
I have done ladakh ride delhi-ladakh-delhi in june 2008 along with two 350 cc bulleteers. No break down whatsoever in whole trip. I am enjoying the ownership of this bike.
Retro-fitted Goldstar silencer recently. Wish to do one solo ride to Ladakh sometime next year.

Fourth Service Over - Now what
Hi friends,
My Standard 350 CI has completed 5500 kms in nine months and fourth and last free service is over. From now on, I am on my own.
I request more experienced bulleteers to please clear my doubts.
1. There are three 'grease nipples' on the bullet; rear break lever, clutch actuating arm(top of the gear-box) and in the timing gear-point connecting rod. The Manual says to 'lubricate'. ASC says not required esp., the timing gear-point connecting rod. What to do
? Is it really required ? Do any of you do it ? Is there any DIY method ?
2. The books also says to replace CB points at 12000 kms. What does this replacement involve ? Does it involve the points only or the whole set-up ? How do you do it ? Whether it is required or not at 12K kms ? Some area of the points place got rusted due to leakage during rains
. How to make it totally water proof ?
3. My bullet developed a nasty CAM gear noise at around 3K kms and RE ASC promised to correct it during fourth service. During fourth service, ASC have changed pinion wheel in the CAM GEAR set up, however the noise still persists. Mechanics at ASC says nothing could be done to reduce it further and this noise is no problems in running the bullet. RE ASC advised to change the CAM spindles to eccentric one but for which engine needs to be opened; that I dont want to do.. So I am persisting with the plans to change CAM wheels. I AM NOT PREPARED TO LEAVE IT. THIS SOUND IS REALLY GETTING INTO MY NERVES
. So is there any other option ?
Thanks in advance

problem with my new Bullet std 350
Hi friends
,
I have got a different problem with my new std 350 CI, i hv done abt 800kms in it, and got it 1st service done... the problem with my bull is, from the day one i started riding it i feel there is a slight vibration/wobbling (some times rear wheel tends to skid)in the bike while riding it in 40-50's as if the wheels are bend.. during the first service they replaced chain sprocket as there was some problem and producing a sort of noise.. when i discussed abt the above problem(vibration), he says it is due to the tyres it'll be allright as they wear or they need to be replaced... but i'm not satisfied with this explaination and i suspect there should be some thing else wrong...
so can any one guess the reason for this kind of vibration...

Got my TB
Hi guys,
I got delivery of my new ThunderBird today. It was really exciting when I kicked it to life in 2nd kick
But I didn't like the horn. It's very low n unlike the bull. Any suggestion for horn changes?
And also precautions in this run-in period apart from 45-50 speed limit?Stabl'ised by: BlackCat (FZ-16), BlackBird (ThunderBird)

Hi Mahesh, There might be some truth in what they say: new tyre tends to skid quite a bit, and it improves over 200-300 km as the tyre wears a little bit.Originally posted by maheshar View PostHi friends

If it still bothers you, check the wheel alignment, as it might not be set correctly when the chain sprocket was replaced.
But checking the alignment seems easier said than done - do any of the tyre shops/ service centers do it for motorcycles? I don't know.

Std. model carb adjustment
Hi, how to adjust the VM24 carb in the Std. 350? I am not happy with the setting - the bike sputters in low revs and dies at red lights.
I know this much: The big central screw controls idle rpm: pushing it inside by turning it clockwise ups the rpm, ACW lowers the rpm.
How does the small screw control the mixture? Does it regulate fuel, or air? And how to set the PAV screw? (the one mounted on the flange, towrds the engine?) Right now it is screwed in fully.

Hi guys,
Got Goldstar silencer fitted to my TBTS. Sound is decently loud :-)
and i like it.
Is there any issue that can be caused by the silencer? i mean will the engine be affected in anyway?
There is no back fire at all, mileag seems to have gone down by 2 to 3 kms. i feel vibrations in the handle (coudl be due to new RD handle)
Thanks

Hey guys,
Got my TB's 1st service done on Saturday, just 3 days from my purchase!
The gears are lot smoother now. Braking is good.
What speed limit should I adhere to now till 2nd servicing?Stabl'ised by: BlackCat (FZ-16), BlackBird (ThunderBird)

^^ the Tbird takes some time to break in fully, unlike normal bikes, thats what i got to learn from my bike. So keep it till 70-75. My bike was fully run in, and became smooth, and started running cooler from around the 6000 km mark. 60,000 + kms, and still running strong on same internals, only oil pump shaft and gear changed twice.
Actually as a rule, i would like to recommend to every T-bird owner, to replace the Oil-pump shaft and helical gear every 25,000 kms. Its about 1800 bucks, but is very very important for proper oil flow to the head and the rest of the engine.

- Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

Hey thanks JD,
So I need to keep the speed limit to 70-75 kph till my 2nd servicing at 3000 km. Even this speed is good enough for me coz I get the vibrations of the bull in my body n fear a lot in going at high speeds on it
