can bad tunning led to vibration in higher rev say 6000 to 7000 rpm???

    • ^^ Not necessarily but it can be one of the factors which might contribute to the vibes the bike may stress (which is sometimes in the form of vibes) when the mixture is anything other than ideal, as is always with bikes or any mechanicals for that matter, no niggle can be isolated to any one part of the mechanical alone
I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

                      Query Merged.

Yes, the stickers are are the first thing which are removed by the mischievous elements! I have had my stickers stolen 3 times in a span of 6 days, but now-a-days, I keep my machine covered as well as I have two extra set of stickers with myself, just in case.

As for removing the 'stains' of those stickers, you can try and use a little petrol perhaps. But, then again it might harm the paint, so better not do it. Instead, why not replace the stickers.
                      :)

The "200" stickers cost about Rs.85/- from the PBK center. But if you get the stickers from the mechanic shops, you get the whole set for Rs.180/-. This includes two "B" and two "Pulsar" as well as two "200" stickers!

That is pretty affordable, according to me.
                          :)

                          • @shailesh - Petrol on some "cotton waste" should be harmless.. dont use too much of it.. why not try on a small area and see for yourself... wipe the surface clean first, dry it, use little petrol on some waste and rub off on a small area till the sticker gum goes and use water again to clean the area. Try this on a small area first.. don't want you hunting me down if it does harm your paint I have tried it and it is harmless..

1800kms on the odo - ride impressions

The 200 has finally started "Freeing" up and started showing my money's worth in terms of decent performance. alright alright... good performance!
Meets my requirement as a fun city commuter and has enough juice on the tap as i need it when i need it!
Established fact that the 200 is a looker, but frankly think the paint "quality" could have been better. For my riding style the stock tires are a joke (too hard a compound and makes the rider feel so inconfident on curves,wet,gravel,sand,off-road. A tire made only for straights on good tarmac is by far useless in India)
Engine is on the noisier side but pumps decent power so am at peace with it. Should see if it gets any better with the Motul 5100 in my 2nd service. Returns a decent mileage of ~42kmpl which isn't too bad for the way i ride and in bangalore's go-stop-go traffic. Yeah the Engine does get heated in these traffic conditions which again i think is pretty normal. My suspension is on the hardest setting and is quite uncomfy on our roads. Gotta move it to a mid setting.

All in all, worth the money you put in if you are looking for an all rounder!
I think if this bike had some good rubber and better lighting, it would have been arguably a "perfect" all-rounder. And these are not things you can't upgrade yourself so am not complaining!

seconded. Just over a year and the paint has lost a lot of sheen.

I have a weird opinion on this because im not sure what causes the "wobbling"/"on-skates" behaviour after doing a long run. Im guessing after the tires get warmed? Brought this point up before but nobody replied to it.

As for the wet and sand.. you got that right. Despite the wider rear, the bike is very finiky. I learnt the hard way with the wet (thankfully it was slow speed) but the 200 just loves to get its rear out of line at the slightest application of the rears. Even if you just go over a wet road, looking at its thread you'd think it would be pretty confident but i just never get comfortable. I always get the feeling she's gonna slide under me any second.

Agreed again. The engine does tend to sound more like a motor than an engine but is noticeably smoother and calmer after servicing and an oil change. Also my personal experience has been its much better after shifting to MOTUL 300V @ approx 3200km on the odo. I recommend it to anyone looking to shift oils.

42kmpl is pretty good and is exactly what i'm getting right now, same stop go if not worse on mumbai traffic.

The suspension setting could also be a part reason as to why you seem to feel a lack of cornering confidence.

As for the lighting, i agree as well although i recommend shifting to the Osram Nightbreakers and the Avenger coils. This side of a complete HID setup, the change is much much better and cheap too

                              • The tires getting wobbly and 'on-skates" (perfect term) is because of the compound.. hard as hell... will have a look at the recommended IRCs and the mich.. but looks like there are hardly any options for the front tire... is there?

Osram night breakers in the shopping list... Question here - will the PBK guys do the avenger coil fitting? does this void the warranty?
