The optimum idle RPM increases to some small extend after some riding and especially in hot conditions or heavy traffic conditions where you run the bike in low gears for most of the time.Originally posted by Enthusiastic View Post---------------------------------------------------------------------------

you didn't provided any mileage figure from your side..Originally posted by the_ghost_rider View Postlet's keep it alive.... so people pitch in your experience....and how many kms/litre are you getting on the stunner???what mods have you done???
Anyways, here are mine:
minimum on highway: 38kmpl something
maximum on highway: 80+kmpl
city conditions: 40-50 kmpl
mods:
shifted to 15t front sprocket (for achieving higher top speed & cruiseability) now my bike does around 5kmph more (in fifth gear) on every revs per minute.

i'm riding the cbf stunner 2008 model...my first bike, and i've owned it for 4 years now..it's a bit hard to separate from my first bike...
the bike is just perfect for the newbies..power at low rpms...but not much on the top end..
i have not been on the highway since 2 months...cant remember my highway kmpl properly...
city conditions 64-68kmpl...
after putting the k&n and telling the mechanic to re-jet this is what i get...
the mods i've done:
1) k&n
2) clip-on handle bars (it has reduced the vibes, need to put the handle bar weights at the end..might atleast postpone or reduce it more)
3) rear view mirrors attached on the front like the p220..
my next plan is performance mods...though i can't think of boosting the performance much...as it is meant to be a commuting bike..could try to push the top speed by FFE & sprocketting and power tuning...that's left unless joel thinks of something...
P.S: kmpl calculated by filling from empty....and calculating the distance travelled through the trip meter....divided by litres of petrol put...the calculation is done excluding the reserve part of the tank...sigpic

Mine was full tank method. i.e. tank up >> ride for few 100kms >> tank up again.Originally posted by the_ghost_rider View PostP.S: kmpl calculated by filling from empty....and calculating the distance travelled through the trip meter....divided by litres of petrol put...the calculation is done excluding the reserve part of the tank...
one side?? stunner's rear panel is single piece, broOriginally posted by Enthusiastic View PostDoes anyone know how much the side back panel (one side) will cost of Stunner? Some labours working in my flat have damaged that
. Can I claim insurance for not so high cost? My bike is 8-9 months old. Monday Morning Im going to SVC.
sorry dont know about the costs.

I would like to see how it looks esp with the P220 RVMs attached. Doesn't that create a chatter? Also I am getting pathetic mileage on my stunner. Would like to know any engine, sprocket changes that could help increase the mileage. Mine is a carb one.Originally posted by the_ghost_rider View Posti'm riding the cbf stunner 2008 model...my first bike, and i've owned it for 4 years now..it's a bit hard to separate from my first bike...

you ask the mechanic(where you usually give for service) to mileage tune your bike...but that will affect your top end for about 5 - 10 kmph...i'm not good with the sprockets..still learning about the sprockets idea..you could check out world of sprockets for more info... btw how much mileage are you getting???Originally posted by Enthusiastic View PostAlso I am getting pathetic mileage on my stunner. Eager to see it. If it would be possible I too would like to go for such mod. Since handle bar will become lighter and it will look good too. Did you lower your handlebars too?Originally posted by the_ghost_rider View Posti forgot to mention that the rear view mirrors are attached like the pulsar but it's not like the pulsars mirrors..its a smaller RVMs.. I was getting mileage of around 38-40kmpl in city that too was too less. last time my bike emptied fully while driving in reserve (almost 2L) for 47-48kms on my tripmeter. I nearly fainted so I am so eager to go to SVC tomorrow and claim if any problem in the engine area
but I guess bike drives normally smoothly so am not sure what exactly the problem is
Whats there in a signature?

hope your air filter is clean, spark plug's good, correct tyre pressure and most importantly you must ride very very sanely i.e. Not exceeding 50-55 kmph & using accelerator as little as you can (slow acceleration)Originally posted by Enthusiastic View PostI was getting mileage of around 38-40kmpl in city that too was too less. last time my bike emptied fully while driving in reserve (almost 2L) for 47-48kms on my tripmeter. and when at svc, mechanic can lean tune you carb for mileage but too lean will be asking for trouble.

exactly what Ateesh said...and if your riding at a speed of 30-40kmph you'll acheive the kmpl that the company declares 60..atleast 58kmpl...Originally posted by Honda_CBF View Posthope your air filter is clean, spark plug's good, correct tyre pressure and most importantly you must ride very very sanely i.e. Not exceeding 50-55 kmph & using accelerator as little as you can (slow acceleration)

okay guys..i would like to update that, i had to change the clutch plate ad the whole sprocket chain set because they were worn out..i even asked my friend, who is a mechanic of the garage i usually give for service, to power tune the bike..i even complaint that my topend is less inspite of putting the k&n filter, later after checking he tells me that the k&n filter was not placed properly and the bike rubber vent was blocking the flow of air through..saying that he went on that he will put a pipe in between to prevent any block in the flow of air...i agreedOriginally posted by the_ghost_rider View Posti'm riding the cbf stunner 2008 model...my first bike, and i've owned it for 4 years now..it's a bit hard to separate from my first bike...

after all the service and getting it back..i was desperate the test the top end...went on state highway and because of the hump's on the road the i could only reach 90...
today i went on the longest flyover in india which is located along the hosur road.about 12kms...traffic very very less...time morning 8:00am...thought to test the top end...the bike could reach 114-115kmph...i was ecstatic when i saw speedometer between 114 and 115kmph....
now since i have power tuned ii probably will be getting a lesser mileage.....will update you on that as soon as i find out the kmpl..
my advice...if your putting k&n do get a pipe along with it to make it a thrilling ride..
P.S.. top speed 114kmph achieved only by k&n filter and power tuning....Last edited by the_ghost_rider; 05-25-2012, 04:18 PM.sigpic
