Idling screw location
Guys, my friend will be leaving for his hometown only to return after a month so his Stunner will be with me. I too had Stunner for some time, but don't remember the idling screw location. His bike needs some serious care as he goes on giving throttle to to prevent the engine from getting off.
1. My question is, can the idling be changed easily or do I need to remove side panels? A pic of location will be much appreciated.
2. What engine oil are you using? Is Honda OEM oil good enough?
3. Location of the air filter and how to clean it. I guess it is the paper type and not the sponge like in my Pulsar 150.
Yes, I don't want to visit the pathetic Honda Showroom/SVC because of my previous bad experience with them. At max I may go and buy the engine oil from them and that's it. The issues are teeny tiny, so DYI is the way I am going. His is jsut 9 month young and under warranty so won't be doing anything to upset that warranty thingy.Regards,

yaeh it pretty good. though bike doesnt stay rev happy in dec & jan colds. (below 15' C)Originally posted by abhishek.1 View Post100 @ 8k RPM is really cool, do update us about your sprocket setup. Anyone knows if 15w50 FS oil is suitable for the CBF?
cant afford it!!Originally posted by abhishek.1 View PostBtw, anyone tried this : NGK Iridium Spark Plug : Honda Stunner - 550.00Rs
sorry mate no idea to me. why dont you go to svc, you'll know exact amount..Originally posted by naveenmuttena View PostGuys,
Could someonce tell me how much would it cost for the side panels for CBF stunner.
this symptom can also be caused by plugged pilot jet. check that idle rpm should be ~1000 rpm (at least) when cold and ~1400 +/- 100 rpm when hot.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostGuys, my friend will be leaving for his hometown only to return after a month so his Stunner will be with me. you see the long spring loaded screw? thats the idle screw. and if your fingers are long and skinny like mine then no need to remove the black plastic-y cover (which is below the rider seat, right hand side)
currently on valvoline champion 20w40 (have also loved other oils, but never the OEM one)Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View Post2. What engine oil are you using? Is Honda OEM oil good enough?
Airfilter on stunner is below the rider seat. (check owners manual for diagrammatic explanation of exact location) if its green in color then its viscous type. no need to clean just change when needed most probably ~10k kms interval.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View Post3. if its yellow in color then its normal paper type. blow compressed air (from inside to out side direction) to clean it [clean whenever needed and change every 10k kms interval]
I think it will be a green, viscous type filter

Thanks mate. Got the bike from him last night as he is leaving today or as I write, he must be boarding his flight. The clutch is too light and feels as if its not connected (or am I feeling this way because of my Pulsar??Originally posted by Honda_CBF View Post

). Is it like that for everyone? I also noticed that the throttle play is too much. This I was able to detect myself as it was moving too much with doing anything to engine or tachometer. The idling is now at 1K RPM but engine feels like its about to die if I don't give throttle. My P150 idles well at 950 RPM.
Best Part : Loved the precise, smooth, no nonsense gearbox and the amount of punch it threw at throttle input. No knocking, smoothness and kindness at its best
. I so wish Honda pops in a tuned 150cc or 180cc engine with 15.5-17.5 BHP and 13.5+ Nm torque. Not even that, a Dazzler engine will do wonders for me. I will sell my Pulsar and get THAT STUNNER.

Yup, clutch is light & smooth. No strain to hand wrist or fingers. Pulsar's clutch is also smooth but not light like any other bikes. Or may be your pulsar needs clutch cable lubrication..
Regarding throttle play it should be ~5mm, after setting it check throttle must not be actuated (no rise in rpm) when handle is turned to full lock on either side. Throttle play setting is similar to pulsar (and all other bikes)
regarding idle rpm; is 1k rpm when engine is cold? stunner dont like it below 1k rpm (cold engine). May be because of high lift valve/cam. But bike must not die when idling.
.
And who dont like more power, I'll also love to have more power on my stunner & stunner's chassis can also cope with little bigger engine. But alas there's no official plan on bigger stunner. Though I feel lower half of engine is similar to unicorn (at least it looks same) so may be 150cc bore can be used?!! ..need to confirm that

Its 42/15. Got it Confirmed. And I use Motul. Thats it. No other changes. Maybe from the day I Purchased, I have been driving constantly above 80, so my bike is tuned to it :POriginally posted by Honda_CBF View Postwhatever man, 100 @ 8-8.5k rpm on a 125cc is really cool and I would love to have that kinda setup on my touring days.
Btw, have also tried 16T sprocket but even with that 100 comes at around little less that 9k rpm (with pathetic acceleration of course)

Hey guys,
Just switched to Motul 300V 15W50 fully synthetic oil. Engine vibrations have reduced and gearshifts have become butter smooth, although I still need to go for a 100kms long ride this evening to test it fully.

keep checking the oil level. This oil is also famed for disappearing from crankcases. Even though, i must say, one of the best oil money can buyOriginally posted by abhishek.1 View PostHey guys,

Just installed Unicorn's 15T front sprocket on my CBF. Vibrations have considerably reduced now. Got it luckily at my local Honda dealer (it was difficult to source it because most of the shops and dealers were telling me that they only have the entire chain sprocket kit available). It cost me 150 Rs here in Thane, MH and mechanic charged me 30 Rs to install the new sprocket along with chain adjustment, 180 Rs well spent!
