I touched 120 on my stunner..Touching approx red line..N it runs at 90-100 without hassles..I jst use Fully Synthetic or semi synthetic oil..then its super smooth!!!..

using FS oil, free flow airfilter, exhaust, re-jetting will make it more rev friendly (there are other mods too if you want to go into extremes) but these won't really help you with better top speed. For top speed you need to over-gear it, sprocketing is the simplest way.

If you want to reduce the vibrations around the 60Kmph mark and increase the top end a little, go for the Unicorn's front sprocket which costs only Rs 75. The Unicorn's front sprocket has 15 teeth whereas the Stunner's stock sprocket has 14. It's a simple mod and you can go for it as soon as you get your bike.

The warranty may be compromised by performing this mod but this won't create any problems with the bike. Also, the fuel efficiency will not be affected adversely. I have done this mod to my Stunner and am quite happy with it.
Thanks a lot for your tip

Does changing the sprocket from 14 teeth to 15 bring really good change. I really want to improve the feel of my stunner at high speeds without compromising on the engine life. Please help me in this.

        Thanks in advance

Good to hear, What engine oil brand do you use?

Superb dude, your bike is performing well and also giving good mileage. Can you let us know about your Breaking-in procedure and the engine oil that you have been using.

          Thanks

You are getting the best performance from your Stunner. What break-in procedure did you follow and what engine oil do you use.

          Thanks

yes you can do that, without compromising engine life. Only downside is you'll loose some initial acceleration, then it will feel like gladiator. And also your gear shifting points may change (increase) by few rpms.

Feels like somethings not connected/fixed/bolted over here

There is nothing to worry as the disc is mounted on a pair of floating ,mounting which center the caliper as you move. Ever wondered how the pads opposite to the piston move away. It is this mechanism which causes the pads to center around the disc when the bike moves. Also when you apply brakes only one side pads move as it is connected to piston. Then the mounting moves and the other side pad comes in contact and once you release the brakes the centripetal force moves the caliper and centers it.
In fact you must ensure that caliper is free to move around otherwise your pad will always rub against disc and cause more quick wear. I have recently serviced my extreme disc pad and will post a DIY soon.

                        • HELP!!!-Intense Vibration and Cold starts in Honda Stunner

                          Guys,

I own a STUNNER CBF 2008 model(kick/drum) that i got from my elder bro 2 yrs back. My bike is great to ride locally in
the city and she (my bike ..) gives me a good mileage of about 40-45 kmpl. The problem is that whenever i try to accelerate her beyond the speed of 40 kmph....it starts
vibrating intensely (and irritatingly)...and sounds pathetic (i almost feel like i'm riding a LUNA.......trust me..it's horrible). Also it has a serious cold start problem.....even in summers i have to kick 6-7 times to get it started and even after that..it feels like the engine is loosing power and gives missing for some time...i pull on the choke to keep it going. I took her to every good mechanic in my town that i knew but nothing happened. Help me guys...since i got this bike i've been trying in vein to solve it.....please suggest me some way to get rid if this prob!!

                          • I think I have decent amount of knowledge about bikes. But when it comes to engine oil Im a total noob since I never cared for them and used mineral oil whatever SVC/Mechanic suggested, mostly castrol.
Coming to my noob question, my Stunner has done 7000 kms. I am fed of poor Honda SVC guys so would service it at a good mechanic nearby. He suggested me to put 10W40 grade SS engine oil. Does it suit Stunner? what does 10 and 40 actually mean? Does it have any effect on FE? He said service intervals of 2.5k kms for mineral and 3.5k kms for SS and SS is better for engine life. Also he said FS not required for a commuter bike like Stunner. Im confused. Also am concerned whether to change front sprokets or not. Not sure how it wil effect FE, gearing.
Currently Im getting 40-42kmpl in the city but drive on not so busy roads.
                            Whats there in a signature?
