  • Hi,

Myself Gagan from Delhi. I am still not able to decide which bike to go for…

Yesterday, visited to Yamaha Showroom, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi , There I got the under exchange deal for my passion pro which I brought on 27.03.2011, it runs only 18,300 kms.

The sale person of that showroom offer me exchange value of Rs. 32,000/- & new SZ-R (White color) costing me only Rs.33, 000 /- (On Road price- Rs. 65000 – 32,000).

So my questions for the owners of this bike are following –

    1) Is this bike is really VFM.

    2) How this bike will performed by pulling total weight of 160kgs (Pillion and Rider).

    3) My height is around 6.3” & Pillion height is around 5.10”.

    4) How this bike on maintains aspects…??

    5) Will this bike surve me for atleast 5 years without major issue like we faced in Bajaj bikes after two years?

    6) How’s the pickup.. (keeping our weight in mind)

    7) What is actual mileage (show room guys told me 40-45)

I know there are other bikes too, but I am tight on budget, apart from this bike there is only two bikes I liked

    1) Unicorn – Rs 71,000 (On Road)

    2) CBZ extreme. – Rs 75,000 (On Road)

The question here is that, if I am getting good VFM in (Rs. 65,000/-) then why I spend Rs. 10,000 more.

I still like STUNNER over SZ-R... will it suits me , by keeping my weight & height in mind, my total day running around 70kms. (within Delhi) some time with my pillion rider (as described above)

Please suggest and clear my doubts.

    Thanks

Try selling directly or contact local workshops. Showroom people always quote ~10ks less!!

Stunner is short geared to pull easily that weight. no probs

      No big deal. Normal maintenance.

      5) Will this bike surve me for atleast 5 years without major issue : Yes

      6) How’s the pickup.. (keeping our weight in mind) Pickup is good lacks top speed

      7) What is actual mileage (show room guys told me 40-45) ~55

Unicorn / cbz extreme is worth the extra bucks u spend!

      Thanks

            • Dude, u can choose after test riding both and find which one suits better. Yes added cc, power and torque advantage you'll get choosing sz-r but the main difference here is in fuel efficiency, a difference of 15kms or more. sz-r unfortunately hasn't improved much in terms of fuel efficiency compared to fz and is apparently least powerful 150. But the deciding factor is you and your riding needs.

mileage of stunner is only ok (for me). but there are people in sz-r thread, getting much better mileage than fz.
you must have a proper test ride (not just a 5 min ride) on both the bike, back to back and find which suits your requirements better (btw, both bikes are good looking & will suit your look)

I have personally found both bike similar regarding acceleration, speed, mileage etc only difference is sz is much more relaxed out on highway

                  • See buddy , if i will take stunner or SZ-r.. i know these bike i cant use for long trip. ... I will basically used for city ride which might extend to 70kms or in weekend with my partner for roaming within the city...

So I think STUNNER will solve my purpose.... of pulling both 200kg around during ride in weekend.. also i think from stunner i will get mileage 55+ (within city) where as SZ-r will give me only ( 45+) .. wht you u say.. ??

well i'm not sure of 55+ mileage but 50+ is very much achievable. and of course, it all depends on riding conditions and habit. and my mileage quotes are average, not max or min...and pulling 190kgs is not a big deal on uphills (for me) so it should not be any problem with you too. and if you stay below 70 kmph (most of the time) stunner can keep you happy. And do a full test ride before deciding, just dont go with our words.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.

                              • Hi i have completed 32,000 Kms on my Honda Stunner. This is a complete hassle free bike. The ride quality of this bike is excellent and very predictable, does good in low-end and mid-end but loses life in top-end and struggles to move above 65 kmph.

Is there any way to improve the top-end and make the bike rev-happy. Thanks in advance.
