Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF
True, in Europe, CBF 125 is considered as a low end substitute to CBR 125 ............... you may click on the Barky's Baby: Honda CBF 125 Modification in my signature to see one being modified step by step. In European markets, many accessories for modification of a CBF 125 is available, but we lack those in our market.Originally posted by MoonLight View Post

Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF
Its not the bike that vibrates, its just the Handle Bars!Originally posted by MoonLight View PostHey All
I think one word that got associated with stunner and Apache too is..... VIBRATION !!! I have been Enfield owner for more than 10 years, and I have driven enfields only till last 1 Year or so.....but I never know what are vibrations people talk about ??? Is this bike shaking or tingling sensations in handle bar, foot rest or something else ..... what actually it is ?? If somebody can help. just trying to improve my bike gyaan
I have heard that in latest stunners and Hero Ignitor , vibrations ( I dont know what this word means
) has been resolved.
Due to Thin and U-Shaped Handle Bars!!..If you replace it with straight or bigger ones like pulsar 220-200, it can be reduced to minimum!!...Also as xpranav said when a small capacity bike is revved to higher rpms..It does vibrate!!..Those who wish to control their own lives and move beyond existence...Ride a Bike :)

Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF
Hey guys.. its been a while since I've posted about my bike. nothing much have changed but recently I changed the stock TVS tyres..
Rear is Conti Go, stock size. it performs ok. I mean its of cource better than the tvs but I'm not rating it very high. tvs tyre had wider contact patch because of little flat shoulder design. and this Contis are rounder shoulder design. So it helps when in corners. noe bikes just loves to lean. but contact patch is kinda narrow but still the grip it provides more than enough for a commuter like me. but this tyre is pretty same as tvs when it comes to off roading.
Front is Ceat Zoom F, size; 90/90 17. yup I oversized it. reason, no tyres found for my liking. though of R15's 80/90 17, that was unavailable too.
about tyre, its really good. mucho beter than TVS. its got wide groves, so its also pretty good for rains & off roadings. "real" contact patch is less or equal to stock TVS.
And for up-sizing front tyre, I had to remove front mudguard's internal bracet.
P.S. I'm a total noob in tyre world.

Why not Zapper thing ?? with a relatively wider trade ??Originally posted by Honda_CBF View PostRear is Conti Go, stock size. it performs ok. I mean its of cource better than the tvs but I'm not rating it very high.
One Query : For the very time when I took my stunner to a mechanic for service outside the authorized service center, he pointed it out to me that the service center guys usually put oil over the air filter which results in choking of the air filter after a run of around 8-10k kms as it is not possible to remove that sticking dust from the AF. He then replaced that AF and kept the new one in place without draining any oil through it as he reasoned that a dry AF can be cleaned of dust. What do you guys say about it ??Last edited by xpranav; 06-10-2013, 08:06 PM.

Wanted to have zapper q, but it was unavailable as well. The shop guys said it doesnt last long so people dont like it. I learned one thing from all this tyre drama.. if you want then order them at least in JSR..Originally posted by xpranav View PostWhy not Zapper thing ?? with a relatively wider trade ??
oiling is for foam filters. most bike these days comes with paper type filter. we dont put any thing on it.Originally posted by xpranav View PostOne Query : For the very time when I took my stunner to a mechanic for service outside the authorized service center, he pointed it out to me that the service center guys usually put oil over the air filter which results in choking of the air filter after a run of around 8-10k kms as it is not possible to remove that sticking dust from the AF. further, 2010 onwards, all honda 2 wheelers comes with viscous filters (green colored), its a paper base filter with some oil in it. making it maintenance free.. if someone tries to clean these by blowing presurised air, then it 'can' malfunction. we just need to change it after 10-15k kms or whenever needed.. and for sake of maintenance, I'd just tap it on a flat surface, lightly.
And new and old i.e. paper filter & visous filters are interchangeable

That excuse which that shop guy gave you is pretty common when they don't have a stock. Although, I am as of now not in a position to make any comment about the Zapper Q as I am yet to come across the tyre stuff for my little honda.Originally posted by Honda_CBF View PostWanted to have zapper q, but it was unavailable as well. Thanks........ do it literally looks like a paper ?? as far as I remember it was made up of foam, when he took out the dirty one to show me up. Please put a high reso pic if avalb.Originally posted by Honda_CBF View Postoiling is for foam filters. most bike these days comes with paper type filter. we dont put any thing on it.

Hey, I checked it today and got it verified from a mechanic as well, that in my bike it is not an O-ring chain. (I remember you had told that 2010 onwards, it came in all stunners), so I was a bit curious to confirm it. But that mechanic guy was not enough to name the kind of chain it is ............. he said "normal wala chain hai"
. Can you help me with some solution to have my answer ??
I was actually looking to change the front 14T to 15T today, but the guy told me that since the grooves of the chain and the teeth of the sprocket have already run together for a 10+ K kms it will be better to wait until I put up a new chain, otherwise I may face noise issue with this new change ........... your comments on it ??

Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF
Actually he is quite right, I made this mistake on my Enfield once. I changed front sprocket, without changing chain and rear sprocket. Since they had run for more than 20K KMs together.....it started giving very harsh sound after every few minutes. I got it checked by mechanic again, he stupid said its all ok and sound will go away after some hundred KMs. One day, I was at speed of around 30-40 KMPH and suddenly chain got jammed and get off from rear sprocket just like it used to happen in our cycles !!!! I thanked my stars that day as I didnt suffered any injury.Originally posted by xpranav View PostI was actually looking to change the front 14T to 15T today, but the guy told me that since the grooves of the chain and the teeth of the sprocket have already run together for a 10+ K kms it will be better to wait until I put up a new chain, otherwise I may face noise issue with this new change ........... your comments on it ??

Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF
xpranav, I changed my front sprocket when bike was almost 8k kms old. It didnt caused any problem to me. Chain got totally worn out before hitting 20k kms. (Its a open chain and I used bike for off roading those days.. bad college road, you know) but I used it till 255xxkms by removing links. If your bike is equipped with open chain then it should be O-ring chain. (stunner got upgraded in 2010, which had open O-ring chain). for further identification, look at you chain, if its side plates has gaps, then its a O ring chain. on very clean, or new chains one can even spot O-rings. Another noob, identification detail, if your bike's rear sprocket carrier a shiny 'Protector' kinda thing (calling it protector because it looks like it can protect the chain from coming off, cant find any word!) then it should be O-ring chain. For Air Filter pics wait for a day or so, will have to take some help from fellow xbhpian.

Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF
When I was there at the mechanic (say M) he had shown me the O-ring on a Pulsar 135 LS ............ M told me that O-ring chains make relatively more noise and are wider than a "normal wala" chain .......... He indicated it to me that there is no oil ring there in my chain. What kind of chain do you have in your stunner ??Originally posted by Honda_CBF View PostIf your bike is equipped with open chain then it should be O-ring chain. Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF
I've got O ring chain. And ya, it costed me 1100 bucks. traditional chain for stunner costs around 700-800. you can have a look at both chains at spare shop..Originally posted by xpranav View PostWhen I was there at the mechanic (say M) he had shown me the O-ring on a Pulsar 135 LS ............
