If you are so worried about this point then you should go ahead for a test ride and then come back again to the thread

It depends more on your riding style that what kind of performance/fuel efficiency you come up with an engine. If you have a generous and healthy pattern of riding you may expect a stunner to serve you an average of 50+ in city riding conditions

I am sorry but I am yet to hear any sturdy info/news about a replacement/upgrade of Stunner.

    • Precautions after installing new piston rings

      Hello guys!!

I ride a Honda CBF Stunner Carbed version. I am going to get new piston rings installed this weekend in my bike. I am not yet sure about the piston if that is OK or needs to be changed too. I just want to know the precautions that I need to take (if any) after getting new piston rings installed and also the precautions if a piston also has to be installed. I have to go to Noida from New Delhi and the distance would be around 35 Kms for one side. Can I ride my bike for this long after this the next day?

      Thanks in advance

        • Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF

I have been using my Stunner since 2011 and have never felt the need of a kick ............. the battery is enough to start the ignition and in winters you may at sometimes have to use the choke to start the engine.........spending a 68k on a 125 cc bike and all is a matter of money maths ................ you should work it out yourself if spending a little bit more over 68k may fetch you a 150cc bike...............and have they blacklisted you or what ?? Honda guys are pretty smooth in providing a test ride

Whether a bike suits you is a matter of personal taste ............... how can I comment on its suitability for you only by reading a few details of height & weight !! there are more subjects to look at (like riding position, handlebars, ride height etc etc) before ensuring the suitability ............. if one showroom is not assisting you go to another one.

          Warm Regards,
          Pranav

Thank you pranav. Apologies about the location not displaying. I have no intentions of not sharing.

One question: does stunner have a friction zone where the bike moves in 1st gear without turning the throttle & simply releasing the clutch. As i am having problems & my rev shots to 2-3 without the speedometer showing any increase in acceleration.

You should check your idling screw ......... engine should be at 1.5k rpm at idling

After getting the engine opened, Check its cylinder and piston, if they have scratch marks which are deep then you have to get piston changed and cylinder rebored (or changed, as per your preference) but if you dont see any scratches then its good. but if you see scratches and cant feel them with your fingers (which most probably is going to happen) then again, its good to go. And yes, you can ride for 35kms. but stay in run-in mode. dont cross 45kmph/ 4~4.5k rpm. keep the revs/speed changing. (dont cruise is the same speed, same gear) and try to have a 10 min hault after every 15-20kms if possible.By the way, whats on the odo??

Thanks buddy for your response. I will ride it in just like run-in mode then. The odo shows 28k kms.

in that case i don't think piston will need changing. Also, get the valves polished & lapped, once you are at it

Assuming stunner has 17 inch tyres, I would strongly recommend you ceat vertigo sports 100/90 X 17. Its tubeless, off road type tyre.
