So you mean to say that there is no rev limiter in this bike.....i was planning to put endurance with short pipe to gain lil more power....or does anyone know where i can get 16t front sprocket?
              Thanks

                Hi,
I own a Honda CBF Stunner, bought in May 2013 and have had a run of around 600Km till date. Due to rain and being a novice rider, havent been able to clock more Kms. Having said that, I have done 2 free service from 21 Honda (Mumbai).

The problem with my bike is in the Gear & RPM setting which the service people seems to have messed up with. Post my 1st service, the setting was changed to ensure my bike keeps running even at stop signals. However this has/may have caused other related problems.

My bike at 5th gear on highway is unable to cross speed of 40KM/Hr and if i try to accelerate more, the RPM needle shoots off to 4 or 5, causing lot of vibrations and stress on engine.
Even on 2nd gear, i am unable to ride above 20km/hr speed and have to quickly shift to 3rd gear to ensure smooth traction and a stable RPM of around 3-3.5.

During my 2nd service (done 2-3 weeks back), i had specifically mentioned this problem and made one of the assistant ride my bike so he could understand of my problem. However, they haven't fixed anything and the bike feels extremely stressed at any gear.

I am not sure if such problems come up in new bikes or is there a set number of Kms to be run to ensure problems don't arise.

Is there anything i can do myself to fix this problem than taking the bike to service center? Pics of DIY would be very helpful and any other tips or points to keep in mind being a new bike and a novice rider.

                I live in Mumbai.

                Thanks.

yes, but if you can find one that fits good and can get it calibrated accordingly from a mechanic

                  Thanks.

At 6000 rpm in any gear on a Stunner you will feel some vibration at the end of handlebars and foot pegs .............. In a stunner there is a 14T front sprocket which makes its undergeared mainly to achieve an acceleration close to the 150cc bikes in stop & go traffic. With this arrangement you will have following rpm indicated at following speed in the speedo console in your 5th gear

                  30 kmph @ 3000 rpm
                  40 kmph @ 4000 rpm
                  50 kmph @ 5000 rpm
and so on till 10,000 rpm for 99-100 kmph. If it is so with you then you should not worry.

Please re-iterate your issue if I have not yet satisfied your query.

                  Warm Regards,
                  Pranav

                    Hi Pranav,

I was unable to understand as to what should be done regarding the 14T sprocket (have no idea what this is and where it is placed nor how it helps or effects the gear and rpm)

I understand the stated RPM & Gear which you have mentioned as ideal ones.

However my bike doesn't even cross 6000 RPM. It starts to vibrate and feel stressed even at 4000 or 5000 RPM in low gears.

Plus if i stretch even a little i.e. accelerate to gain speed, any gear the rpm shoots off to 4000 or 5000 causing lot of stress on bike. There is no smoothness experienced.

How do i address this issue? Friends and posts on forum tell me that you should be ride above 50+ at 5th gear and in 2nd or 3rd gear above 30+

However, m not able to do the same.

                    Regards,
                    Siddharth

Make a quick check of the following by yourself or through a known mechanic:

                        1. Air FIlter (I had once vibration issues even at lower rpm and it was all because the bike was feeling choked due to a bad AF)
                        2. Accelerator, Choke & Clutch wire
                        3. Clutch plate
                        4. Carb setting

The chances of the point no. 2,3,4 are very less because you have a new bike.

Man with a 125 cc which is also short geared the bike has a maximum top speed of 105 kph true speed. With 15 T sprocket there will be no torque to cross 9000 rpm as it has a small engine. Torque is directly related to the capacity of engine. You can increase the power but never torque without hiking the engine capacity.

We have a stunner and the maximum is 110 kph on speedo that is 105 kph true speed. Speeds of 114-118 kph is forte of 150 cc bikes. You cannot make 125 cc bike to touch more than 110 kph. The maximum top speed by 125 cc bike is gladiator of 108 kph true speed.

                              Hi Pranav,

i couldnt do all the checks by myself that you had noted. thus would be taking the bike to the service centre.

i was so happening that at higher gear, with an increase in speed even the rpm increases causing lot of stress on my bike. even my friend rode and was of same opinion. he also said, that rpm should remain constant at higher gear and speed should increase.
