Re: Sprucing up a classic p150
You got me wrong buddy. Im talking about the air filter box snorkel. Its your best and safest bet at getting better sound without much problems. Il post a pic of what a snorkel looks like. Adjust afr to a good mixture after removing it. For exhaust just buy a stock exhaust or a dtsi exhaust. stay away from any swing arm mods. For rims buy any 17 inch rim and spokes and fix it with existing hub. Get an r15 v1 rear tyre and an r15 v2 front tyre and then see the bikes handling.... will post pics soon.Originally posted by in_dutta View Post

Pulsar 150 UG3 engine cut off again and again
Hello Everyone!
I have Bajaj Pulsar UG3 2008 model. From the day i purchased it,she is continuously giving me problems like no other bike.Even i used to keep my all vehicles in top condition including servicing and polishing.Pulsar is the only reason which gives headache.from last month engine of my bike gets cut off automatically after driving merely 9 kms.I thought it is overheating,so checked the oil level.Oil level is proper between upper and lower mark.strange thing was even electrics like indicators meter console and starter not working even there is no any battery issue.Tried 25-30 kicks to start.she refused to start. So i waited for 10 min and then tried fortunately bike starts this time and reached home keeping rpm lower than 3K rpm.Immediately i called mechanic and told him about problem. He serviced my bike and put fresh oil in the bike.Electrical issue automatically disappears.Hate Bajaj because of this.I was happy, bike feels smoother this time.so I took the bike and on the way to home same incident happened.Engine goes off automatically.there is no such thing like seizing even before just engine cut off on normal heating.Again waited for 7 min roughly ,bike starts and I returned to mechanic. He said there is no any engine related issue, because engine will seize only when it is running on low oil or lack.He further said "sir mujhe stator coil ka issue lag raha hain, garam hotehi wo current nahi chhod raha shayad, aap kisi electrical wale se check karwalo".Came home with sad face.i am not getting where exactly problem is?I dont trust Bajaj ASS.
Can anyone of you please help me in finding out the solution to the problem.
Regards,
Vinay

Re: Pulsar 150 UG3 engine cut off again and again
dont loose hope, first get the wiring checked along with coil and cdi, as the mechanic suggested, in most cases the coil is the culprit next place to look would be the cdi, have the coil checked and replace if needed. but be sure to get the correct part number for ug3 coil, not sure if there is a differnce in ug3 and ug4 coil but will check and let you know shortly. stick to the original part number if replacement is neededLast edited by mehuel; 08-22-2014, 07:56 AM.

I was bit busy today,so i ll do it tomorrow. One more thing,if i found any fault in the coil i wish to replace it with avy 180 coil(DV111005). Many of us says it is direct plug and play in UG3.what is your opinion ?others can also comment

Re: Pulsar 150 UG3 engine cut off again and again
Yes. It is a direct fit. But I would recommend buying a cdi for 180 avy and keep it handy. I have known a few instances where the cdi went kaput after such mods. You can even replace both at the same time.. no harm in thatOriginally posted by mechalsar View PostThanks Mehuel !!

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Guys, need help to ease my tension. Last night upon a friends request, i went to race him with my pulsar ug4.5 150 whilst he rides an only 2 months old apache 150. He wasn't much of a match, i overtook and took the lead two times. both time i was at 121kmph. RPM was at 9.5-10k!! Ran in that speed for few minutes.
Now im worried, have i inflicted any damage to the engine? Is it safe to run at 10000rpm for a short time? Plz i appreciate any info, technical idea and experience regarding that?

Hello Everybody,
I own Pulsar 150 DTSI and now it will complete 8 years in the month of October.
Bike has completed 67000 kms.
So i want to know after how many kilometres do i need to replace the Clutch cable and Acceleration cable.
I have not changed from the day i purchased the bike...
And how much it would cost me.

Valve for pulsar 150 ug4.5
Hi there , i was wondering if someone could direct me to some link or address where i can get a pair of titanium valves for my pulsar 150 ? The stock valves are just fine but i often travel at speed of 115-120 hence the rpm redlines at 10k or so. I heard the titanium valves can tolerate this punishment !

Its better if it is done every 15k to 20k km.Originally posted by sand_sat View PostHello Everybody,

Titanium valves?!?! Dude its a pulsar... I own one... almost 1 lakh kms on it...... trust me....it dosent need titanium valves... moreover...at very high rpm an engine begins to suffer from a phenomenon known as valve floating..... to lrevent this you need stronger valve springs....your stock valves are strong enough to sustain these high rpm periods....even in the event of extended periods at high rpms... what cant sustain these are the oil seals and guides etc.... abstain from high revving above 7000rpm..... your engine isnt even making its peak torque or power then... no use revving it that high.... no need for such modifications....
On a lighter note... honda once had a bike called rc166.... it was a 6 cylinder 166cc puny bike... 6 exhausts , 6 carburettors...and 24 valves... 4stroke... red lined at an astronomical 20000rpm...has the most amazing noise I ever heard... check it out on youtube.....it also didnt have titanium valves!!

Re: Valve for pulsar 150 ug4.5
Need help from fellow xBhpians!
I recently bought a second hand Pulsar 150 UG-I. Spent 3000 on it to get it serviced as the previous owner didn't give a damn about it's maintenance
It needed a new engine head, CDI ignition coil etc. The mechanic suggested to get a carb replacement too, but that would cost me 3k more! Anyways I noticed that the tank is all rusty from the inside and water just seeps into the tank from the fuel opening. It accumulates just outside the mouth and seeps in when tilted.
I suspect this is causing carb and engine damage as the engine is getting a fuel-water mixture. I am seriously worried that this will screw the engine even more. Please suggest any immediate steps that can be taken. The way you ride is the way you are..
