Nice Link.
I agree about Barros. Was my 2nd fav, Rain expert..
Even Hopkins was a very good rider, but never got a good bike I suppose.

^^^ someone has applied some serious thought to that clip...
... It is superb!!!
I remember seeing a interview of Ago where he mentioned that the bike rider combination was most crucial to wining. Not all bikes are compatible to all riders because of their riding style. Now to think that Ago was the one to convince Rossi to make the switch.... Irony indeed

Not really. All he is trying to put across is that no matter how talented the rider is, the bike does make a important part of the equation in the whole situation. Even if winning world championships is as Rossi said in his book 70% rider and 30% bike (or was it 80% rider and 20% bike???), if the 30% of equation i.e. the bike is not up to the competition, the rider cannot make up for the deficiency by riding 110%, because ultimately he is going to get into serious trouble, hence, he speaks about John Hopkins, about how he tried to make up for the Suzuki's deficiency by riding all out. The results are there for everyone to see.Originally posted by Braumabull View PostIts pure bashing about Rossi being in this situation.
Oh, before anyone starts about how Stoner is able to ride around a bike's deficiency (I have utmost respect for his abilities, he is simply amazing!!!), the view in the interview is that of a World Champion who has been there and done that under the most difficult circumstances, hence, carries a lot of weight.Last edited by abhimanyu31; 04-16-2012, 01:05 PM.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

In my opinion, Stoner should have won the 2009 Championship to prove he could ride under difficult circumstances. (Thats when they change the frame, right?)
2006 Valencia TB and Loris had the bike with Steel trellis and they Finished 1st and 2nd. Loris had Nice season in 2006 ,Minus the Catalunya crash.
But then Stoner won the last race he raced on his Duc and got Pole Position for the Next race... WID CF
Yea he rode that Ducati better than anybody

Mate, the equation has changed. I didn't do it. Moto pundits at Motomatters have. Its 90% bike + rider and the rest 10% is the SET-UP!!
From Qatar GP, anybody could tell (In fact, Rossi himself did!) that he didn't push himself and the bike. Because even if he had, he would have finished 5th/6th.
And that not what he is looking for. Ducati too. Or at least they think so!
Its very clear that he's not riding like he stole it. That's Stoner's territory. I started respecting him only after what he did in 2011 season.
Of course, #58 could ride but, not as hard as Stoner. RIP #58.
JLo isn't of that category. He is clinical in his approach and has the character/ride quality of a champion.
BTW, the Duc Desmos went up for sale long back and the media even tried: "Which one will have more bids and fetch more money? Rossi's or Stoner's"!
Well, I don't think, Kenny Roberts Jr. has said anything which isn't true!
I do still think that a 9-time world champion should be able to 'fix' a bike no matter how bad it is and ride with the faster boys, at least after an year. But, we are just mere mortals looking things from a hole. There's a whole of things happening out there. I mean, we definitely shouldn't be telling Rossi what to do and how to do! Its silly!

Read these articles somewhere in 2011. Can't help but think, why a certain Mr. Rossi is just greater than the sport-MotoGP itself!!
Thought, I should share with my Rossi fan-mates here.
