A hollow victory by Rossi. This ideally should have been one of those races where Lorenzo wins by a postal code and Rossi would have had very little chance. Good job by Rossi still, beating both Honda's and a very game-looking Cal. Next GP should be very interesting given how close most riders are, to the next rider in the championship.

To be honest,i just dont like lorenzo, but seeing him finish 5th from 12th,that too just 36 hours after his surgery, with 8 screws and a plate holding together his collarbone, you ought to respect this guy.

You may be correct mate but surely not the correct time for this comment. Lets just relish the moment...

Rossi kissed the top step of the podium - showed how much he missed it! From Sepang 2010 to Assen 2013, it must have a long long road for him.

Jorge Lorenzo has just made every overpaid Premiership footballer look like a pansy!
um.. i don't think so mate.. football requires running.. falling.. hitting.. being hit.. so I don't think its going to be easy to play with a collar bone.. i had my right collar bone fractured and within 3 days I was able to ride my bike.. but I couldn't play football as when I ran.. the pain was hell.. FYI.. i was in my college football team so I had to take proper rest for a month minimum to get back to playing.. but hats off to Lorrenzo.. he returned the next day and still he was in 5th position well done..

and hats off to my favourite marquez well riding

Redding is complaining on the top speed again. Moto2 should have same spec for all. Is Dorna taking care of Esp's fight for the championship? A few common men think so.

The premier class race was a testament of the importance of having a great chassis in a track that doesn't allow max top speeds that can be achieved on GP bikes. You could see the lines picked by M1 riders were way different than the Honda boys - thanks to the handling. Look at Esp, not only did he beat the Ducatis, he was all over Bautista. Ducatis looked like a bunch of streetfighters.

To finish it off, one thing is sure, Rossi had plenty of reserve left in him when he was leading the pack. He did it with ease.

Great race by Lorenzo after the surgery, respect to him.

I thought Dovi & Hector will box it out, to prove who's right.

Riding a bike and riding a bike at race pace are two completely different things like walking and sprinting. :-)

You haven't understood what I am trying to say.. when I "being a rider and not a racer" can start riding a bike in 3 days.. its obvious these guys can race.. but my point here is.. lets not compare football with MotoGP.. because Football is a different sport.. since I used to play.. i know it.. thats what I was trying to compare.. in football.. we cannot stop people from falling on us.. holding our shoulder to jump and do a heading.. while running we tend to fall.. so here we need to recover in full.. this was my point..

Not trying to say I am a racer and I can never compare myself with these guys.. they are simply awesome.. even with a broken toe and a finger.. marquez didn't give up.. hell.. I can never do that.. they have that love for this sport..

Lorrenzo not only deserved it.. he earned it today.. even with a broken collar..

Just saw the race result update on FB and my first reaction was holy shit Rossi won! Equally amazed to see Cruthlow on the podium again!

Reading through the comments on this thread and the reactions to his win its evident how important Rossi (still) is to the MotoGP fans and the sport!
