The Professor and The Student at their best this season.

How the hell does Rossi chew back so many positions?! Had he not.....! Shite.

Moto3 was an absolute riot at the mid-pack. Good to see Mahindra on the podium.

PS: May be, Rossi should have stayed on slicks for the whole race. Slower on the first few laps but, he would have won the race comfortably. A lot of ifs and buts.

as it indeed seemed to me as well seeing him today, expectedly and understandably i guess...

Lorenzo said he was scared about crashing and getting hurt again. Big man to admit he was totally freaked out by conditions

Big respect to Lorenzo. He just told media he got spooked by last year's crash. 'I was scared when I saw the rain spots on slicks'

I think you are correct. Broc Parkes, the only rider who actually started on slicks, gained almost 45 seconds on Rossi between the 5th and 7th lap, when all riders had to change back to slicks. At the end of the race, Rossi had a 25 seconds gap from Marquez. We can safely assume that Rossi on slicks would have performed at least as well as Parkes... So victory was quite possible for him today. But he made the wrong decision at the beginning, whereas Marc, who supposedly is less experienced, didn't make a single mistake, like a real veteran. The lad is almost too good, anybody wanting to beat him will have to take risks, even if his name is Rossi or Lorenzo.
Rossi was fantastic in the actual race going from practically last to 5th, but missed a great occasion.
Lorenzo gave in to depression I think, -- his bike didn't have any technical problem but apparenbtly he didn't want to take any risk.
Last but not least, kudos to Dovi, a great race -- he would have won if it had remained wet.

I was bored at the end of the race, same old outcome of the race, I raised the questions about Dani during the last race and he just couldnt keep up the pace with the satellite bike which he eventually passed and stayed 3rd.

As for battle for 1st and 2nd, that wasnt a battle, it was one fast rider with fast bike overtook 1st place rider. And after over take its all booring. I was hoping for the rains to make it more interesting but it didnt. I strongly feel that victory to a single rider in MotoGP is spoiling its charm. I dont watch the race after I see # 93 bike leading the pack. Its all the same.

Dorna has sent a notice to all the circuits on the MotoGP calender to be renamed as "Circuit de Marquez" failing which, they 'll be evicted.
And no more classifying tracks into Honda track and Yamaha track.

                • Have you noticed. Apart from Marquez, Honda is a bit low at the moment. In race as well in qualifying. Dani Pedrosa is nowhere near the top in qualifying these days. Bradl & Bautista have also gone down. While Yamaha's are having a good time. Rossi, Lorenzo, EspA, EspP. Dunno maybe because of 3 Yamaha-centric race tracks in a row.

But, Marquez is something special. Reminds me of Casey Stoner of the 2007 season.

Missed the race, got back home to find out Marquez won again. Holy shit!
BTW, looks like Lorenzo's done. Well, Atleast he has a palatial house and tons of cash to ease the pain...

It is really difficult to stay at the top of this game for a long time. It takes more than skill. Stoner quit early, Lorenzo might be the next. This makes one look in wonder at Valentino Rossi even more.

Yes, the fact that Rossi has been in it for so many years and still racing with the top guys is really something.

I beg to differ on Stoner comment here. In the year (2011-12) he retired, Stoner finished 3rd in Championship, winning 5 races in the process with 10 podium finishes. Stoner retired for different reasons altogether, only he knows the real reason behind it, rest all are just speculations. And this was nothing to do with more competitiveness or difficult to stay at the of the game in races. I guess we all know what Stoner was/is capable with the given bike.

Yup, and I am on record saying that Stoner could probably be, even now, the fastest rider on earth. That's not the issue imo. The issue is that he doesn't enjoy racing any more (his own words) -- in my words he has lost the passion, the fire, and without that fire retiring is the intelligent thing to do, even if you can still be the fastest guy on the track. Our sport is very dangerous, one cannot risk his life just for the money. It has to be love.

Sugar Ray Leonard, one of the greatest boxers of all times, retired when still young and strong for the same reason, he said "I lost the sacred fire". Lorenzo is still one of the fastest riders on earth, but he also might be losing that fire. I hope not, but the signs are there. That same passion is what makes "bikers" of people like us, rather than simple users of two wheelers. I personally can't help feeling closer to those who have that fire in themselves, and a little removed from those who lack or lose it. It's not a rational thing...

Marquez should be made to start from last just to make it entertaining. I would love to see Jorge Lorenzo move to Honda factory team for next season, and probably Iannone take his seat in factory Yamaha. But thats just wishful thinking.

Guys commenting on lack of fire in Lorenzo, I would say, lets just leave him alone for the moment. Everyone goes through ups and downs, and we personally do not know what Lorenzo is made of.

He may be able to pick himself up, he may be able to dig deep or unfortunately he may just perish. Lets give him some time to heal to introspect. Stoner was a huge loss to the sport, we do not want another great rider joining him.

Respect to Rossi. Even after all the years behind him, he is still among the top at 35! Yes, he might not be the winner in races nowadays but again you always don't have to be the winner to be a champion. He has alreday done the winning part in a number of races already. In a sport where even a 0.01 sec of delay in reflex can cost you dear life, this man is still going strong. Rossi is to MotoGP what Schumacher is to F1. The name Valentino Rossi draws respect from almost all bikers and racers around the world.
Both Marquez and Lorenzo have the potential but they have to be at their top for at least a decade. Greatness can't be attained by success achieved in one,two or three seasons. My bet is on Marquez though as he has age on his side.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.
