  • Re: MotoGP 2014 Season - Updates

Rossi bike's swap drill was a bit crazy. He just shoved the bike into Brent's hands with both the legs dangling on the left side to jump on the 2nd one!
But, Marquez looks like a gymnast when he does the same. The kid is a genius in everything he does. Hmmm.... Lorenzo's was a mess.

Like Rossi said, it 'll take sometime to recover from the nightmares. He underwent the same after that Mugello highside in 2010 for a couple of races.

@chinmayakar: Putting MM on a Honda production racer 'd be more entertaining.

Could not agree more buddy. Amazed, why did it take so long for someone to mention the swap drill. Watching Marc jump on to his 2nd bike was pleasing. VR wasnt sluggish either. Worst I think was Collin Edwards. Taking his own sweet time to change the bike.

If Marc is not reined in, the sport may turn out to be boring for seasons to come.

^ Nice closeup video of the bike + sound.

But the guy was riding it the way most superbike owners ride their bikes here...veeerrrry carefully, no serious cornering only 'pojing'. Or maybe the Honda guys had threathened to shoot him if he dropped the bike. :-P

Well, there is not much you can do with a MotoGP in a small parking lot or in a twisty narrow hill road... to open that throttle and then apply those brakes you need much more space, and if you don't accelerate and brake hard enough the Bridgestone tires (even rain tires) remain cold and there is no feeling... it was just a parade.

^ Well in that case Honda can take the RCV to the Isle of Mann...no need for parading there. ;-)

Yup, that would be interesting -

The TT is scary and dangerous, but fast -- the RCV could stretch its legs a bit better there. Extremely ballsy rider needed though...

Rossi's renewal with Yamaha was given for granted, the issue was the duration, one or two years: Yamaha would have preferred one year, Rossi wanted two. It seems Rossi got what he wanted and the official announcement should be imminent.
Yamaha on the other hand probably got two for the price of one, so everybody should be happy!
Now Rossi can relax and concentrate on the last challenge of his career: beating Marquez (and everybody else) to secure his 10th title. Or at least win a few more GPs...
