If u get in this argument, I will have to drag in the VW Beetle that costs 25L plus in India. And it still sells albeit at very low numbers for a lifestyle product. And Honda's Jazz may cost 8L, and even it sells. So if Merc did not get their A-class, its just their incompetence. There is quite obviously a market for every car from the good old Amby to the Veyron.Originally posted by yellowspunk View Postits not that bro. it should come at a sensible price.. if you want to be the mercedes A class of the bikes so be it but if honda is gonna give you a fully loaded SUV for the same price isnt it human to want the SUV? after all the A-class even with all its gizmos will be in competition space of the alto i10 and the like.. sure its a mercedes but how many of the alto i10 buyers can actually afford it and even if someone can afford it why would he buy the A-class when he can get his hands on the C or E class?! its as simple.. same reason why the A-class of merc isnt in india !
EDIT: sure you can tell me there will be people who want a small car with the 3 pointed star but really how many?
i'm pretty sure the KTM will be priced sensibly(coming for bajaj they will try their best) and this is just misinformation hopefully.
Its the same with the KTM 125 as well! The pricing was discussed to death before Ninja 250 as well and in the end it was a great shock for everyone who expected 1.8L. Its better to have realistic/pessimistic hopes and be happy at the end of the day than have optimistic hopes and end up dejected!Democracy is when 2 wolves and a sheep meet to decide who is for dinner. Liberty is when the sheep has a gun.

Anyone who wants a KTM and knows what is delievers will not mind the price even if it is 1.5L.Originally posted by yellowspunk View Postat what cost my friend?
Atleast, i wont mind and i know there are several others in this forum who wont mind either. Its not targeted at people who dont know what that 125cc bike offers over bigger 250s. For them there is Pulsar and Karizma.Street racing is for Squids trying to make up for their small equipment

Riot dude I seriously doubt it'll be less than 1L. The buzz is that it'll be priced between 1L to 1.5L. Still it is VFM at 1.5L even as you rightly said.
It is going to get a run for its money as there are rumors that the Honda CBR250R is going to be priced at 1.5L to 2L.sigpic

Assuming it is an india-spec version (only reason I can think of for it to be a scoop), the pic is processed badly (esp. the attempt to edit out the background)... Can't make out anything...Originally posted by rohanblade View Postguys bsmotoring has got the scoop pix of ktm duke 125

+1. It looks pretty plain jane compared to the pictures that we've seen from that Milan show. More reason for it to be an India-spec version, to keep the cost down.Originally posted by NikhilB View PostAssuming it is an india-spec version (only reason I can think of for it to be a scoop), the pic is processed badly (esp. the attempt to edit out the background)... 15ps (i think) for 118kilos (link posted above)?Originally posted by payeng View PostMy "Power to Weight Ratio" comment is for all bikes.
13.5 for 120 doesnt sound bad either unless 1.5bhp is gonna kick ass the 1lac extra rupees.
if you consider 15 a number yes. you can bring every product in the world to india and it will sell some numbers. but and thats a big BUT ! the beetle from your example sold only 300units while the toyota fortuner sold a 1000 units. which is my point. i really dont care about the pricing or the bike.Originally posted by Aparajith View PostIf u get in this argument, I will have to drag in the VW Beetle that costs 25L plus in India. Im praying that the upcoming CBR250 will make RB bring in the KTM (125 or higher) sooner....
C'mon RB second half of 2011 is too late
; you are giving the CBR250 a 3 month headstart...
