Looks sell in India, a 150 that looks similar to the 250 will cannibalise it..
The specs for the 150 is too radical for it to come to India.
Even the specs of the bigger bike is an indicator of how rigid honda in thier thought process for India. (I guess I have a nice topic to blog about now!)
Edit: Anyone knows where this gentleman disappeared

Honda will definitely launch something this Diwali it can be 150cc or 200cc but if they launch 150cc it can turn out to be wrong step people in India need something big from Honda if Still CBR150 R then Honda is moving on Yamaha pathway...

what is Honda's priority ?
what is Honda's priority ?
Yamaha with the R15 was quite clear, they did not have anything other than some Escorts left overs. It was the r15 or nothing..
If Honda wanted the CBR 150, they would have brought it in maybe 2 years ago..
But today Honda has a Unicorn and a Dazzler, both 150s.One even with International looks, back disc Etc..
So where will this 150 cbr fit in??
does honda need another 150 ?
Scooters are selling, they are pretty happy with that..then Shine is selling, Stunner and Twister needs help and the existing 150s are managing some numbers.
So what does Honda really want ??
Also consider the divorce from HH!!
just thoughts...

CBR150R would be in competition to R15 as we all know. Yamaha, today have 4 different 150cc bikes!! R15, Fazer, FZ and SZ. CBR150 is the only one to compete with R15 so Honda can very well bring it here, whether they bring along a 250 or not!The Chronicles of Motorcycling - The Man, The Machine and The Road

just thoughts...A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

I've always felt that Honda had played it very safe from the beginning..The Unicorn has changed aesthetically over the time but it still is one of the slowest 150 or lame-spec-ed bike in the market (no offence to anyone, pls) ..So when it's selling in hot numbers why the hell should Honda tweak it with more power?..The scoots are doing just fine..and Honda is more than satisfied with their product range..
If you are thinking as to why then,Yamaha came up with R15 and Honda can't is easily understandable-Yamaha were doomed in India before they launched the R15..and Honda is ever growing..There's hardly any product in their portfolio that is not selling in good numbers..
@Nin..Honda definitely is not thinking it as a track bike for Indian masses..
Honda is not something like TVS,Hero Honda(minus Honda now) or Bajaj who need to prove their track-excellence or technology by a 150cc on Indian tracks or roads..They are world's no.1 manufacturer..Nothing to prove here..
I want Honda to break the jinx and come up with this kinda performance bikes.. Honda you listening???

If I were "Honda" I would want to be the number one 2 wheeler maker in India by volumes and by image (without Hero).

I am just wondering, maybe Honda will launch such a bike in India( 150 or 250 cc, whatever) and use the production lines as an export base for the bikes and the spare parts for more dynamic markets? they can easily produce one such bike in India and export it to USA to give competition to the ninja and the migelli in the 250 cc series in these times of crisis. a lot of beginners prefer the baby Ninja over 400s as starter bikes but Ninja has not had a competition for a very long time now.
I am also of the view as many of my brethren have expressed earlier that Honda is the one to play it rather safe (than sorry). plus they most probably consider India as a base for utilizing near obsolete models and technology, just in tune with our politicians who do not want to educate the masses as they are easier to exploit lest educated. so if the customer is happy with less, why give him more?

They are here for their business and at the end of the day, whatever fetches them more green-bucks, they would indulge/invest in that.
A handful of enthusiasts like me & you won't change the topic much in their board-room meetings. (sales & percentage is repeated 'n' number of times and do I need to elaborate further?)

agree with the statement. but honda is a relatively new player in the indian market, so they should play it safe until they get a foot hold here.Originally posted by Satellite.kid View PostCBR150R would be in competition to R15 as we all know.
