?????????????????????????????? CBR250R | ?????????????????????? - ?????? - cbr250thai.com
And ya that video is of a CBR250RR 1986 model restricted for UK.
U.S version can touch 215+
produces 45BHP @ 14000RPM and Red line is 20000RPM... U.K version 18000RPM Redline(Rev limiter)
6.4 seconds SWEEEET
It can be possible as the Ninja has a racing character and power comes in the high RPMs whereas the CBR250r is more of a tourer/city bike with a bit more torque and the power comes in soon at starting and mid range RPMsOriginally posted by Duke_848 View PostSailkamal
Man you are getting me excited
You are saying the CBR accelerates to 100 quicker than a Ninja which has an extra cylinder and 7 extra horses? Hard to beleive but exciting none the less
Yes, I also can't find any figures, do you have the link for the full reportOriginally posted by saikamaldossya but that is just the introduction and there was a full report..

A single cylinder kicks up more torque usually!Originally posted by Duke_848 View PostSailkamal

*something tells me to wait for the KTM200*
Sadly yes.... but colours shouldnt be a problem in India!Originally posted by arunteche View PostIt means no other colors for India other than this....

When is the KTM200 expected? I have already booked the CBR. It has been 10 long years with my Fiero, the wait seems to be getting longer and longer...Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostA single cylinder kicks up more torque usually!

Well pointed out. You didn't consider the power output of the CBR at the wheelOriginally posted by senthildskLet me just point out the error in the numbers you have quoted....
Ninja 250R: (@ Crank)
Max Torque: 22 N.M @9500 Rpm
Max Power : 33 P.S @11000 Rpm
CBr 250R: (@ Crank)
Max Torque: 22 N.M @7000 Rpm (approximately)
Max Power : 26 P.S @8500 Rpm
When you are comparing power/torque produced at the Crank-level, you have to do it for both the bikes.
All bikes have frictional losses. CBR 250R will most probably get 22 PS of power at the rear wheel (bit optimistic though).... Ninja rear wheel gets about 26 P.S of power.
You just assumed it made 26 horses there. I'm sure 22HP at the wheel is what the CBR might produce. So, based on this, the Ninja should be trouncing the CBR.
Coming to the Torquey nature of the CBR, its not like its got 50Nm more or something. Its just giving the torque at 1.5k RPM lower. That means, the ninja would be, at most, a quarter of a second behind while accelerating out of the corner. Buts its sheer Horsepower advantage is gonna take it ahead of the CBR again in the straights.
This test oughta be done for real. Cannot come to theoretical conclusions.D'oh!

Some time mid year is what we seem to hear.Originally posted by bprags View PostWhen is the KTM200 expected? I have already booked the CBR. It has been 10 long years with my Fiero, the wait seems to be getting longer and longer...
Agreed to the maths bit, but dont really agree to this bit on corner. If this is the case why does EVERY track bike have a its peak power on higher RPMs.Originally posted by MACH50So what does this mean, when both the bikes go into corner and come out of it,the high revving bike that is Ninja fails to produce truck loads of torque like the CBR,which produces more torque at much less rpms.......so you get the Honda out with sombre revs and accelerate fast out of the corner simply due to its high torquey nature, but for the Kawasaki, you need to rev high amid a corner in order to move out fast like the Honda, but higher revving rpms means more wheelspin amid the corner which would lead to lose control while exiting the corner, but within the permissible limit of revving, the Ninja makes relatively less torque to power out of the corner fast like the Honda.
You forgot a vital element called as the gear.
In a turn: an experienced Ninja rider would drop the gear, still remain high near the power band, and still kill the cbr while exiting the corner.
The higher the torque the more difficult to get out of the corner as the sudden 'acceleration' could result in fishtailing. (Which is why supermoto bikes on the other hand have high torque on low RPM ranges to drift\slide out of the corner!)
- Rest, I would like the track experts to add to this!Last edited by satyenpoojary; 01-16-2011, 11:56 PM.Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

Mach50 has totally forgotten about CBR's RWHPOriginally posted by HyperionI am sorry, but this post is completely misleading and senseless.
Do you think The CBR puts out the same RWHP as what it does at the crank?
Yes, Ninja makes its power higher up the RPM range, which means the rider has to keep shifting to keep it in its powerband. It hasnt nothing to do with being slower out of a corner.
Its disappointing to see the kind of misinformation that is being bandied about in the forum these days.
. I would say mods delete that post, very misleading. We have already had enough fights on which bike is quicker.
