  • Gr8 News !!

Superb news.. at a time when i was thinking of a second bike..

had my sights on RE 500 Classic.. but with CBR250 coming in April, i guess.. i will simply wait and watch..

xBHP helped me make an informed decision when buying my 220.. the first to own one in the entire west region... waited patiently.. and the patience paid off well... more than happy with my beast after almost 3.5 yrs of buying it.. of course had a lot of PBK visits and initial probs.. i still need to visit on occasions..but i luv my beast.. and i do everything possible to keep it in tip-top condition...

now, xBHP again turns out to be such a great source of information when i am thinking of a second bike.. the CBR250 may be my second bike..

xBHP simply rocks.. its informative, has members who go out of their way to help co-members with performance/maintenance tips and queries, and last but not the least, a team which seriously has the right insight and is headed in the right direction...

    Thanks to all of you..

PS: Are Payeng, Niks, and Chilled Fire still active ??? These r the names i remember from my earlier days on xBHP, apart from core xbhp team (my old id: NeelDude)..

      • P220 - Neutral light Blinking

SORRY FOR OT.. realized that it may not be appropriate on this thread..

        Guys - Help Needed

I am facing a weird problem on my 220.. this problem showed up about a year back.. noticed it after a tour of 400 kms where i ripped the bike hard.. taking it to its limits.. the neutral light started blinking when ripping.. slowly it started to be more bothersome even in normal conditions..

things came to head when the neutral light stayed on even in gears.. with the engine turned off.. every time i went and got it checked, it wud be solved and in three to four days, the problem slowly creeped back ..

around 5 months back i got seriously pissed off at the PBK mechanic and he kept the bike for around 2 or 3 days.. I called up Mr. Rahul Hawaldar at Bajaj Pune.. and he called the local Bajaj engineer based at Ahmedabad.. finally, i realized that in the 2 or 3 days when my bike had been at PBK service station, it had not at all been touched.. and the problem was solved within 5 mins once the mechanic opened it up...

later on i realized that he knew what the problem was.. and how to solve it.. but he was intentionally not solving the issue for good.. he gave some bullshit about waiting to to what extent i went and what i would do next.. said that he felt bad that i contacted the authorities further up at Bajaj Pune and that i had not discussed it with him even when we were on good friendly terms..

but i seriously doubt.. that there was an ulterior motive behind all this bulls**t.. he was using the bike whenever i kept it for a couple of days for personal use.. on the pretext of checking it out on the highways...

the problem has started again.. occasionally after hard ripping, the neutral light wud intially start blinking,, and then over a few days stay constantly on... i have noticed that after the bike cools down.. the problem goes away till the bike is warmed up again (in present case, till its heated).. which makes me believe that the problem may be occurring when the engine is heated...

has anyone faced a similar problem with their bike ?? and if so, how was it solved..

i have lost all my faith in PBK mechanics.. at least i wont keep my bike there for an extended period of time .. at least not overnight... i am more than certain that they replace parts, and i simply dont want to risk it..

hope someone has an answer to my query.. ??

        thanks..

        Neel

Honda CBR 250R US Price Announced

can anyone please tell if this is a typo or is the new bike really a four cylinder fire breathing monster like the old cbr250rr??
No, it's a 250cc single. And it's not bikeindia, but a sensationalist blog called **********. Please double check your references, before injecting a whole lot of needless speculation.

              • Its sad that such a good thread is spoiled by a single person who is simply trying to prove and exhibit the so called rare knowledge and skills he learned over time () and trying to Show that he was right in his argument .

Man we all accept you were right in all the things you said .
So Can you please stop the information dump to this forum (and give Google some rest ). And also please forward the valuable information you have to Honda/yamaha/kawasaki/BMW so that they will open their eyes , slap on their R&D scientists and stop giving ABS option in their premium models and save some poor souls who die everyday due to ABS failure .

Come on man . Please stop it . Please dont test the patience of many other members out here like me who come to xbhp for some quality time
                and information .

There are sensible people out there who realize the importance of Riding gears and a good helmet and will spent their hard earned money for that realizing the important of those. They will realise that C-ABS is one the best saftly measure we can get . Its always better avoid creating a situation to test our riding gears .

                      • The pics on the last page were great! Difficult to decide which color to go for! Red/Grey and Black/Grey look OMG!

I had a similar problem when getting my FZ! But I chose Red cause the Black was completely Black! with the Red however there was black strip on the tank!

But with the CBR! both look equally amazing!

+100 to the BOLD part.. I always like (any) bikes in the BLACK color. But in this case, I am planning (if the bike fits my budget) for the Red/Grey color. But after seeing the pics (Black/Grey) in the last page, I am having a mixed feeling now.

                          • Honda CBR250R.

Wow,good number of discussions is going on,

1st view:ABS,these are safety equipments which are very necessary in case of emergency braking.........yup,it would require a pro to master stoppies on ABS enabled bikes but on the otherhand, for a racer,it would be a boon as braking late into corners, carrying higher speed into it would be absolute delight
C-ABS is a very good system too,it maybe computer enabled but it is us who pull the brakes, and during WHAM braking ,the computer controls the effective force the right way so that we don't end up in gravel while slowing down at the same time.Honda's ABS are really something to go by,I found them on the Fireblade and they were better than even some OE cars !!!!

2nd view:I am crying for a twin............a CBR in its segment should be a performance monger,VFRs are tourers. The new VFR1200 has got good mix of performance and touring character in its segment. But the CBR250R should have got that character too for the 250cc segment.

3rd view:Ninja 250R,be it Fi or Carbed, its a Vtwin........and it is always above 30bhp and things gets keeping better if I go by Pulsar 220 example, the carbed 220F is 21bhp and the 220Fi was 19 bhp for the records !!!! The Ninja 250R is the bike with wonderful abilities and excels without a doubt in 250cc performance...........that makes it the best 250cc around.

4th view:Pricing is competitive,we would have got the CB300R at same rate here, but just to keep costs down the CBR250R is not a Vtwin,is becoming a bit absurd logic to believe in.Even the CB300R would have got the same niche of customers that the CBR250R is ought to get............but CBR250R should have been targeted to take the fight to Ninja 250R.

                            • Anybody guessed the diameter of the forks?? Going by the photos we have been pounded with, they look same as the Zma or the local bikes we got. Or is it little thicker?
