Agreed with you having experience on your side.... No disputing that....

Believe it or not, I went through some pages of the forum you posted (yes, I'm at office)...

    Some observations:
Seemed like they were talking about a company-specific tech issue...Also, hasn't the world (and 2-wheeler ABS tech) progressed since 2004-07?

PS: I'm a complete noob... Interested in the discussion because I used to think that ABS was safe (better to have than not), so just want to get it cleared (for GK and future reference sake)...

For me, hydraulic system based braking is more reliable and easily repairable. My priorities are clear and loud. Go ahead, no one is stopping anyone from buying an ABS bike. No dispute at all.

      • I dont think you the slightest idea of how C-ABS works ! You dont have a clue as to when C-ABS might fail either ! A dog peeing on your brakes wont result in any sort of failure..nor will washing your bike result in any problems.

      • The above sentence in red tells me that you are one of those who need this system the most for I am not sure whether you know what it is to lock your wheels.
      • The only people who are against this technology are those who are afraid that some new kid on the block or a squid will come outbrake them on the straights. Others simply dont like the idea of letting electronics help them because they think their brain can oscillate faster than the sensor oscillating at 20 times in a single second to check for wheel lock. Is that being arrogant or what ?

C-ABS is an electronic system that firstly measures then commands an electric pump to actuate the hydraulic system. C-ABS IS hydraulic braking.
The link that you have posted is not only old but it doesnt even the talk about C-ABS which is the topic at hand here.

Inference: You dont know what C-ABS is -> So you dont know when it can be used -> so you dont understand how it will (and does) save lives --> so you hate it.

It is a naturally expected of you to hate it as that which we dont understand we cry foul for. Hence all I shall implore you to do is get to know what C-ABS is. Till then you can stick to hating CBRs price tag. At least thats being speculative. You are just spreading the wrong word out there...

      • ^^ Heck after so many valiant attempts of you at explaning from simple explanations to brilliant analogies , all we need is a sticky page on the safety awareness of the C-Abs

the least it will do is to guide people away from wrongly experienced guys

Great explaination of a C-ABS. Couldnt have been simpler.

We can sum up all this in a simple sentence for Technician: Ignorance is Bliss

Nice! A free flow exhaust! but I didn't like the golden color strip on the tank, seems out of place. Also too much red on the seat!

Come to think of it, the seat on the CBR looks extremely comfortable! as compared to any other street bike in India! the thing is huge! can't wait

PS: Are free flow exhausts allowed officially in India (by the RTO)? since they give out more pollution?

                      • a bike is hardly released before people started fitting in free flows and similar junks. mugen or hugen who ever it is has successfully spoiled the other wise good looking cbr.

Honda made the CBR a single cylinder so that the engine can be used as a base for the upcoming Moto3 class in 2012. Teams using this engine may already have done more than just adding free-flows to it.
