      • Guys its not just about beating r15 or ninja.
So far as Indian market is concerned, it is only about beating your competitor's model, i.e., R-15(performance-wise) and Ninja(price-wise). Think about it.

So a good looking 250 with adequate power and good fuel milege and loaded with necessary tech is the best way to survive for honda(or make extra bucks) expect same type of bikes from all major manufactures soon.
Partially true generalization of world Bike market. But until every major manufacturer has 250 single in India, CBR 250 would poach customers from R-15, P220, 180 cc bikes and also Ninja 250 only. Won't it. Also, as Honda has adopted a different method to face two totally different models (R-15 and Ninja 250) with the help of a 250 single, likewise, its competitors would try to match CBR 250 in their own fashion and not all by launching a single 250. How about a R-20 at 1.20 lakh or a Ninja 250 at 1.90 lakh or so.

Its not my intention to annoy Honda fans,

              but what the...........!!!
The Bike has a CBR tag on it and its a 250cc !!!!It is expected to be a performance master atleast leaving all other things aside.
Its downtroding its own legacy !!!
It can carry the VTR's twin easily, which on slight tweaking can put down 32PS easily.
But Honda brought its old single-cyl,that served on the CBX250 Twister for many years in Brazil and tweaked it to put down 26PS(from 25PS).......thats all !!!!

We are Bikers and not marketing people,a big wig like Honda can easily afford both a single cyl and a Vtwin for Indian market, but they have done injustice to the CBR brand................that too when an equally displaced Ninja would make a mincemeat of the CBR in performance as well as refinement.

And a CBR 250cc trying to smoke R15 in performance stakes !!! is the most absurd assumption, the R15 has only got a 150cc engine and costs around 70 grand lesser on road.If CBR250 had R15 as competition then there would have been no CBR150 for God's sake.

I think CBR250R is not yet launched only show-cased for launch,if Honda is reading this thread, then please put the Vtwin in that chassis.............it would be only a few months late, but a product of envy for sure.

As for us budget crazy ones,Honda has CB300R.....that would suffice.

BTW 2012 moto3 class is 250 four strock singles, so i think single is the new twin(!).

It still would suffice for those people who don't want speed, like me. The max speed I would want to travel at would be 120kmph(max to max) on that bike(very few people would travel at that speed), and it can be achieved easily on the cbr250r. and there are many people like that who would buy the bike just for the Honda label and looks(saying it's a 250cc is enough for most people to convince them that it's a fast bike). So what if you would have higher pick-up on any other twin cylinder bike, with all due respect sir Honda has made it's decision and it does not disappoint me. If Honda would launch it with a twin cylinder then it would cost almost as much as the Ninja if not more, and that's what Honda does not want, it's aiming at a cheaper bike which would appeal to the budget of people in India.
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.
