    Agreed...

But i'm a bit terrified of this bike lauch as it will kill the resale value of my ZMA. I see lots of ZMA/ZMR owners upgrading to this bike....

    Blah Blah Blah!

    • There is going to be a lot reactions in the climax (Actual launch of the bike)
Young riders pick a destination and go, Old riders pick a direction and go !

LoL. But sorry brother its the best way i know for letting honda know we are not happy with the price hike. Not the price. They must be looking for a feedback about cbr250s pricing. well somebody have to give it to them right? And i dont think discussing price after its launched gonna make any difference.

What we or others think is not necessary for the honda. It has already decided its price tag & is not going to change it for any individual. If your logic was right then the ninja should have been less 2lacs & mojo should have been priced at less than 1.5lacs.

OK now lets think your logic to be right. Everyone is discussing it to be less than 1.5lacs & suddenly some guy comes & speculates its price to be 2lac+. Then everything is smashed & everyone will go gaga over it. If you will see this thread from the start then you will notice that what i have said is right.

              • Plz people, the 1.8 tag is speculated price is the on road price(with insurance, accessories and all the other extra stuff)! The ex-showroom price is going to be around or below 1.5 lakhs... The price stated in the interview by the CEO(or whoever that person was, no offence to him) stated that the bike will be far less than 1.5 lakhs, which he stated in respect to non-abs version and ex-showroom price without any of the accessories(that's what they obviously do)

                • I think Bike India has wrongly mentioned peak torque at 5.5K RPM in their track test December article! Shall we point this out?

                  • Too bad,
another good one gone down on the power and torque front.
This CBR250R is said to deliver 26PS only...........and its because of the single cylinder bore out thing used on this bike.
Now it seems that Ninja 250R with its in line parallel would rule the 250cc performance roost, while the CBR250R,Mojo and Pulsar250 would fight it out in the single cylinder 250cc market. While Yamaha would too participate in the single cyl 250cc segment with their YBR250 later on.

Honda could have used the VTR250 mill on this.

Then the Ninja beater may have to be left to Suzuki's GSR250(speculated to be a twin).

What I think about the 250cc section is that it's gonna be split into 2 sections, single cylinder which will be cheaper and the twin cylinder which obviously will be costlier. Now it's upto the company which one they chose to make...or they could manufacture a series of 250cc bikes having twins as well as singles...that would be intresting. But that wont happen so quickly. Honda's gonna be an experimental dummy for the rest of the companies thinking of launching a single 250cc bike in India. If the bike sell's good then Honda's has an edge over the other companies but if Honda sell's bad then the other companies might re-think their 250cc strategies. But for now CBR250r and Ninja250 are totally 2 different bikes. Consumers who want power will still go for the ninja and those who want the refinement of the Honda engine and all those goodies will go for the CBR.
Doubt: Is pulsar 250cc gonna be released and when???

Ride the Ninja 250R, you'll be surprised at its refinement and composure at triple digit speeds.

Might be but there is still something totally different about the Honda engine from the other engines that sets it apart. And its cheaper.

If I ever buy a 250cc Honda,I would go for the VTR over the CBR250R anyday, and why not,it would have the best of both worlds.I believe cost of manufacturing and homologating and tweaking up an existing model would be much more economical than developing an entire new and pricing it less.According to my assessment a VTR wont cost more than 1.80 ex-showroom,to round it up at 2lacs(few years back a twin like Comet 250 was only 1.3lacs).Then why not it ???

Here is a load out on the VTR's specifications,

It has to be,its a Ninja R lineage, meant for sports touring and not the focused ZXR lineage, even the elder brother 650R is a comfy tourer too !!!!

No wonder why some people are still speculating that Honda might jack up the price.

                              • If the VTR does launch in India(has it??) at the same price or just a few thousands more, everybody's obviously going for it...It's a better engine that the CBR that's for sure...
