, blasted the guy
When u cant tell neither the exact price nor the delivery date or show the vehicle, how can u expect me to answer your questions n in wat way are these helpful to u?????
H: Sorry sir, but the Honda people have asked us to collect the info!
Me: Then please ask them to call me up n i will answer them directly cos i find these questions ridiculous.
I think this is heights for any company with regards to cust relations!!!
Customer information is vital for a marketing dept. to get right the S-T-P: Segmentation-Targeting-Positioning for its product.
By gathering info of its potential customers, HMSI would be able to Segment the market/customers and therefore be sure which type/profile of customers to Target and how to Position its product in the minds of the target customer so that it appeals to him in the most relevant manner.
It won't hurt to give what HMSI the info that they want.

What's your age?
XX
What's your marital status?
Married
Do you have any kids?
Yes - hello? Hello? ( the opposite party has cut the call)
no - call proceeds
Do you have wife's permission?
...
What's your family planning?
Scorcher: Great way of telling the company. Next time, ask whether they provide escort services along with bike!
payeng: I say screw HMSI if they are collecting private info. The inquiry is about bike, not japanese girls available for dating. I personally like to mess with their data.
Married: Yes, thrice
Kids: total six, Two from me, three from past wive's husbands, one's origin unknown
Data collection is NOT meant to be free, and certainly not on the cost of wasting time of customers interested in product. There are agencies like IMRB that conduct such surveys giving out some freebies for people who participate in the survey.

Well, they have to do something till April.Originally posted by animeher View PostData collection is NOT meant to be free, and certainly not on the cost of wasting time of customers interested in product. But I agree that they could at least clear doubts like On-Road price or at least provide test rides.

I think Honda is more inclined towards doing some sort of family survey rather than selling the bike.
They want to see that what kind of people are going to buy this bike but are not keen on declaring the exact price.
They will see how many bookings they are able to do at the price of 1.5L and then decide what should be the official price...
Lesser booking = decrease in price
more booking = 1.5L (they might even think of increasing the price
)
But I think this approach is not good as you can not judge the sales of the bike 1 year down the line by looking at just the number of booking when the bike is launched because this bike IS costly for most of us.

Booked my CBR this morning. Red Abs version. Now I'll just have to wait and see it actually in the flesh to determine whether it fits my size or not.
Am about 5'11, 106 kilos. Have to shed off atleast 10 kgs before April so that I don't look ridiculous riding the honda.
The Karizma ZMR was comfortably my size (except for those weeedy tyres). I was comparing the dimensions and the CBR is a bit smaller than the ZMR in length, breadth as well as height. It does have a longer wheelbase but the mini fairing makes it look like a smaller bike, at least in pics.
I hope it's more substantial looking in real coz i don't wanna go in for yet another Bullet...
Oh and the Honda manager called personally and asked my complete bio-data.
He even asked " what are u comparing the CBR to?" So i said "it's better than the Pulsars and the Karizma."
(Hopefully) "Better than the Ninja?"
I said, "No, the Ninja is much better, but ur Honda is cheaper".
He hastily ended the conversation....
P.S- No HRC colors as far as the Siliguri dealer knows... only the usual silver, black and Red.
I'm the fifth person to book the CBR in these parts- (Siliguri & Sikkim).

The same fellow through whom I booked called me a few mins ago but didn't ask anything related to marital status or kids
Asked only the D.O.B and my profession/designation
Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one. And most of them are full of shit.

Hi,
could somebody please let meknow how the Road tax is computed. I was been told its Rs X * CC of the vehicle.
Isnt that stupid if they compute the tax on basis of the amount of the Ex Showroom price? we pay the VAT however for that.
(Me not a CA so pardon my ignorance)
Originally posted by harryhunt7 View PostYes, that's true. I am currently in Chandigarh and taxes are less here, I have also stayed & bought a bike HH CBZ 2002 in Bangalore when I was there for three years.
I have booked the CBR250R NON-ABS on 4th Jan and was told I am among the first ten from Chandigarh to book this bike
. The booking amount is refundable, I checked.
For guys in Bangalore or other cities where road & other taxes are a bit high don't lose heart
, If I were in your place I would have bought this bike even if I had to pay a bit more reasons being
01. This is just something what I & India has been waiting for a long time, a proper quater liter motorcycle and that too from a Japanese manufacturer at a great price.
02. The price of Rs. 1.5 lacs ex-showroom NON-ABS is good if compared to the US price MSRP $3,999 which comes to around 1.83 lacs and this is ex-showroom price for US I guess. Also, the Chandigarh dealer told me it would be around 1.40-1.43 lacs ex showroom for NON-ABS lets wait & see if it is true so many of us might save money
.
03. I would consider this as an excellent & reliable investment, knowing its Honda it will last you many years to come and the quality & performance will be great too.

It is based on the tax levied by the governement. In Bangalore I think the road tax (including cess) is 13.2% of the ex-showroom price plus Insurance. I might be wrong but this is what I am aware of, maybe someone from bangalore will be help you out on this.
