The dimwit lady seems to be the same one whom I met last Saturday while booking. When enquired about the CBR bookings, she turned on a blank-confused face. I was lucky to be overheard by a nearby salesman and through him was able to book it. Accept the fact guys, we customers through the various media like this are a lot better informed than those poor souls.

If you still want to book at Mekhri circle, check with Ram. He helped me in booking.

Going by the experience of our friends at Honda showroom to book CBR, I have the following running on mind...
- Honda is aggressive to launch the motorcycle rather than first educate the importance of "premium" customers to their sales people & train them
- CBR's might be serviced next to Unicorn & Activa. Nothing wrong with it, but, when we all compared Ninja 250R with CBR 250R & especially when we see Ninja 250R being treated better at PBK rather than their own product P220 by BAL, I'd expect a little respect for CBR's from Honda
- Will Honda consider CBR 250 under the premium motorcycle segment & customer who buy them also under premium segment?
- There were instances reported on issues with Ninja 250R & the way PBK handled them were only a fantasy for any Indian biker. If not to that extent, will there be a specialized or dedicated team to handle CBRs?
- Last but not the least, if CBR 250 starts selling like a hot cake, how will Honda handle the waiting period? We all know how Honda is handling the waiting period for one of their top selling product Activa.

Its just little over 2 months for the launch, will Honda ramp up their speed to face these challenges? Only time can answer!!!

Couldn't have agreed more with you guys. Without announcing the final price to its dealers, Honda seems to be creating a somewhat fake demand for the bike.
Refundable deposit or not, if I were to book the bike, I wouldn't do it till I got an aanouncement from Honda on the price/ an assurance in writing on the price front. Moreover, the performance & feel of the bike is also an enigma (not talking about the reviews from journos here)
Its not the question of money here, its about anxiety.

It's sad to see that the C-abs on road price might shoot upto 2 lakhs.... That's a bit too much for a bike it's capacity. I'm hoping the final prices should be lower.

I Agree @ 2 lakh it is a bit steeply priced nd d waiting period kills which happened with the Comet as well..............................m still wondering what to do ? go for it now or wait and watch....................

+100 to that.No offence meant to the guys who have gone ahead with their bookings but How can someone book a bike without seeing it in flesh and not knowing its exact price??? If Honda receives a good response and huge number of bookings they have kept the option open to increase the prices,thats my perspective...

Well! people who trust the Honda and CBR brand will book it, I recall even the R15 wasnt available for test rides and many people over here booked it without a test ride, coz of the trust in the R series brand.

The lady who called me yesterday from Planet Honda was asking me when she shall expect me to book the bike.. I told her I am not booking it till it is launched and the company announces the ex-showroom prices...

Just imagine how much Honda is earning on interests by keeping 5k for 4 months.. Even if 100 guys put down the money, Honda has 5 Lakhs for 4 months from which it wont pay the poor investors any interests... Just a thought... And i heard people shelving out 30K...

I would rather wait for the company to at least divulge the EXACT "ex-showroom prices" before putting down my hard earned money..

Lets not give Honda the Wings of Dreams.. Anyway they have shelved our dreams by first announcing that the baby CBR would cost "much less than 1.5 Lakhs" and then calling up and saying its 1.5 Lakhs... Its not what I expected from Honda..

I would only say that there is a HUGE difference in these 2 scenarios:
1. Booking a bike that you have seen in the flesh, but without a test ride.
2. Booking a bike that you have not seen in the flesh, and without a test ride.

Also, the amount at stake for the CBR250R is far higher than that was at stake for the R15.

For some people, it might be down to trusting the brand, but the CBR250R does not share the CBR DNA. The CBRs are built for the track, & not touring (for which there are the VFRs, which is the lineage the CBR250R shares).
Lets not start off a war here between Hondas fanatics & XYZ fanatics though.

To every man his own. I was only voicing my opinion, & not thrusting it on anybody.

End of the day its your decision, & your money.
