      • OT: And now i am hoping that the prices of 2nd hand Super Bikes will further reduce....
huh huh... my life's all become about hope... hope hope hope...

Back to topic: The rear styling seems to be carried over different models... the rear end of the bike's similar to Twister/Dazzler... those rear handles (or whatever they are called) for the pillion to hold on to.. all black and plasticky..

        • The price and performance quoted by Zigwheels are just speculations from MCN... I would rather wait for Honda to mention both..!

Simply added 15% to the assumed ex-showroom price. Thats why I wrote at the end-such a price difference is not realistic!

                ABS model: 1,20,000 baht = 1,78,338 INR

It might be safe to expect the same as Indian ex-showroom prices, considering the bike is being manufactured in Thailand&India, and the Honda site also confirmed that export to South America&other countries will take place from India.

Hence, my speculation of OTR prices is as follows:

Non ABS model: ex-showroom: 1,48,615 INR = INR 1,70,907 OTR

                ABS model: ex-showroom: 1,78,338 INR = INR 2,05,088 OTR

But I strongly feel that the difference of 35K is too much for ABS, considering even car manufacturers in India charge only about 15-20K more for their ABS equipped versions! And this is only a 250cc bike.
Bring out the real pricing Honda!
Sweet. That's a bit expensive but a bit more sensible than the Ninja 250r's pricing. Yes it is a single cylinder so it costs less. Agree. But still a Honda 250 at around 2-2.3,2.4 lakh is not bad considering it has 26 patents. I just hope Kawasaki gets a plant soon too and start manufacturing their Ninja here so it's prices drop too.

That's not gonna happen ,... As bajaj is planning there 250 [ECU development almost over (Bosch)] and probly they are rolling next year any time .... but for Honda ... now there is no Hero .. so they have to take next step

Good point about the Hero-Honda split up and next move thing. But are you serious about the 250 from hamara Bajaj? ECU testing n all? Bosch? Mmm...this i gotta see. A Bajaj 250.

The Thailand price is exactly what it should be. There is nothing extraordinary in the bike other than the C-ABS(which is anyway optional), DOHC,Mono link suspension. The frame, chassis, suspension and every other part is very basic and ideally the bike should cost 1.5lakh on road.Period!

On its face, the engine seems to be more detuned than those of R-15 and CBR 150i (less power per cc) but a free revver than R-15. If we try to compare it with R-15 price (the main and only benchmark whose parts are brought in CKD and assembled here in India from the same country), then the price per Kg. and per cc of CBR 250 is around 1.20 and 1.70 lakh respectively in India OTR. So a middle approach of 1.50-1.60 lakh would be the balanced approach. Also, I don't know whether pouring of additional grams of molten metal for bigger engine blocks make the bigger parts substantially costlier than the smaller one. Otherwise, CBR 250 engine is just as technically set up as R-15 engine is. No big difference.

                      Be cautious guys!
                      Exactly my point

                      • a patent can be as simple as a pen nib or a helmet visor arrangement or even the way grab rails are designed

saying anything above 1.60-1.80 on road price is simply atrocious

The bike except for larger mill & great design doesnot pass r15 which also has a superior frame advantage

                        • @Sarvajit - I don't see any reason why it should be costlier than the Thailand counterpart because it will be completely manufactured here. 1.5lakh on road and Honda has a clear winner in their hands

I agree very much........Onroad price 1.60 on-road price at max. looks sensible and even then the company can still earn good margin in there.
