HONDA has clearly studied the market...they clearly aren't trying to take on the 250R..the specs say it but they are offering a well powered 250 which is more like a tourer which only deserves a semi fairing but plonks a full fairing and the CBR tag to keep the folks happy!
CBR250 will always sell more than a VFR250
look at the commercial video...its all about touring...not even a pinch about sports biking!

anyway @<2L this is a great machine! and if uve got 3L...NINJA IT IS!
I guess the honda is copying the yamaha by launching the baby bikes of their bigger bikes.

So if the CBR is a tourer then would that mean it is not good on tracks?? If yes then the R15 owners would have a justification on their purchase of R15 & the R15 would have an edge on the CBR (atleast on track).

Since it is going to be launched next year there is a lot of time. Now just pray that the yamaha, suzuki, kawasaki or any other major bike manufacturer does not get this news. Otherwise the honda is gonna face competition.

BTW the price is very reasonable according to me. But I would prefer a mojo if the prices of both bikes are similar.

It should use for both purpose as guide in Honda Official site.

"Our development objectives for the frame and chassis include fusing flexibility with a rigid feel at a high level through mass centralization and satisfying the sporty feel a rider gets the moment they mount the bike. Development also aimed to provide a basic riding performance that covers body size, dimensions, driving stability, and riding position; these factors were optimized for riders of all kinds from beginners to experienced riders so that they can feel the fun of maneuvering -a fundamental element of motorcycle riding. A rider should be able to use the bike casually in everyday life, go touring at times, and enjoy a sporty ride at other times."

Even the promo suggests this..Very commuter-ish and less drama! I was expecting some knee-down antics and race track scenes...But the Rider (in the promo) is riding in dreams or clouds..

Also,Honda is promoting the new 'Handle grip' too much..

For those who haven't watched yet .Here's the link

If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

Isnt honda also following the path of hero honda when it comes to promoting products??

Its highlighting the engine kill switch & rear handle bars as if they are the only one providing it & its a very unique feature.

Moreover even i found that the ad is not at all aggressive or innovative as bajaj or yamaha.

The system on the CBR250R wont be the same but I still wonder how they are gonna battle the weight and cost increase when implementing C-ABS on the 250R.
              according to honda website
              non abs - 161kilos !
              abs - 165kilos !

              13,900.00 BRL = 359,614.68 INR

              means STD + 20% = C-ABS
whatever it is, i will get the bike with C-ABS !

                • Pricing speculation

Honda has declared the pricing for Thailand as follows:

Non ABS model: 1,00,000 baht = 1,48,615 INR

                  ABS model: 1,20,000 baht = 1,78,338 INR

It might be safe to expect the same as Indian ex-showroom prices, considering the bike is being manufactured in Thailand&India, and the Honda site also confirmed that export to South America&other countries will take place from India.

Hence, my speculation of OTR prices is as follows:

Non ABS model: ex-showroom: 1,48,615 INR = INR 1,70,907 OTR

                  ABS model: ex-showroom: 1,78,338 INR = INR 2,05,088 OTR

But I strongly feel that the difference of 35K is too much for ABS, considering even car manufacturers in India charge only about 15-20K more for their ABS equipped versions! And this is only a 250cc bike.
Bring out the real pricing Honda!

                  • @Satyen! Look ^^^^ I was talking about ABSd model when I said 2lac. so.. Now I dont have to buy you one

P.S.: Honda wont change the pricing if a tom dick harry antz.bin speculates / jokes about it on a public forum / facebook.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

i dont get you, if the OTR of non-abs is 1.7 then OTR of abs should be 1.9 right? where did you get the extra 15 from?

                            • The fuel tank capacity is very disappointing, 13 litres with a mileage of 25kmpl, should give a range of around 325 kms, very very disappointing. The bike should have atleast had a range of 400 kms.

Also know that since its a FI unit, you cant let it run dry. So the effective range is further reduced.
