    • CBR150 who??

      love the VFRish looks.

C-ABS on the bike is a brilliant feature...
which Honda will prolly use as a USP.

hope Thai Honda keep the production quality up...
that'll something to watch out for.

but it's prolly safe to say that i won't consider buying this since the GT650R is here.

lol seriously, I dont think there will be an end to new bikes coming into our country. Honda is just starting. Bajaj is luring in the Kawasakis and the KTMs, and also planning to release their own 250cc - 300cc bikes (rumour), Mahindra worked their 'Mojo' and speculations on the Yamaha Fazer 250 is also on.

This segment is just unfolding and we can expect a lot of sub 500cc sports bikes in our country in the near future. The buyer is just beginning to open his wallet beyond the 1 lakh mark and companies are trying really hard for that ''monies''

For those who WANT the bike, price isn't an issue (ninja, for example), and for those who care about the price will mostly be disappointed. I say, lets look at it as a new trend in the Indian bike segment. Its gonna do us all good

No point saying ''Bajaj P220 doesn't compare'' or ''Honda has more tech''... at the end of the day, every bike is someone's IDEA and a DREAM and we must respect his work and his balls for making one for real and putting it on the street. Bajaj and Hero taught India to ride bikes while Honda taught us to do it VERY FAST . Respect both the sides of the coin.

This bike, looks very very good, and makes nice power. Should be fun to ride Yay!
Well said buddy...and D'oh to you too :P

          • Finally the product is out. Though I am pleasantly surprised at the body work! Was not expecting this. But it certainly looks good.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

              Thanks.. \m/\m/

Btw, in that ad, the part where he rides into the clouds is brilliant! Gives the bike an auro of awesomeness. I half expected it to morph into an F-22 Raptor and take off

                  • Just a thought -

1.cbr 250 is competing with Ninja 250r in thailand . Since the specs are not the same and its a single cyl , the price should be atleast somewhat lower than Ninja

                    2.Ninja price 150,000 Baht <-> 2,20,000 INR (duties ~ 30% , makes ex showroom 2.7 L)

                    3. Honda will have 20 % lower price = 120,000 Baht <-> 1,80,000 INR (assumption of 20% , can't be more than that)

4.No import duties , locally produced

5.On road price less than 1,99,000

6.Gives them price premium over Mojo , For being a honda product

7.Stays below the psychological barrier of 2 L for us.

                    • Finally a breath of fresh air! If the 1.5 lac price tag is true, this could be one practical, desirable yet affordable machine we could use!

                      • the bike looks awesome.... from just the looks of it 1.5L sounds very doubtful...mojo came for 1.75L but then honda is no mahindra....they probably will ask a premium just to make it stand out and for the exclusivity...that, if they are not looking for the volume of sales and in case they do then they will price it competitively..and how much we wish they do that

                        • Finally the market is opening Up
Bike looks amazing No words to say...
If the pricing would be the same as mentioned the bike would be a steal.

Position is totally commuter so now we can tour in style

Looking forward for the performance specs and release for India

                          • Honda has gone the Yamaha way(R15) and bettered it. R15 was a half hearted attempt from Yamaha, now they will definitely think that they could have also launched a higher capacity version of the 15.

This bike won't be in the same league as Ninja so I don't think it will affect the Ninja sales, it will surely affect the sales of R15(whatever left ).

                            • Price ..
I am going for this babe eyes closed.
I think she will cost more than Ninja, considering C-ABS & 25 patents.
                              Keeping fingers crossed.

I will start saving money now on.
Anybody interested in my 5 month (~4000 Kms) old/young yellow Karizma ??

                              • There is something we are forgetting here. Honda has historically always been a volume player. The situation being different only in India where HMSI was niche / exclusivity / premium player due to the existence of one 'Hero Honda'. The reason for these aggressive launches (I foresee the 150i too at 1.1 lacs for sharing parts with the 250 to keep costs down.) is that Honda will be losing out on a very very large chunk of revenue coming through Hero Honda post de-merger. If Honda wishes to come back in the numbers game, all it needs is a superior product in each and every segment that Hero Honda is selling in.

Honda, that is why, upgraded the Unicorn to Dazzler, have a 110cc commuter Twister which is leaps and bounds better than any Hero Honda 100/125cc, the news of a 27k Honda commuter bike (for the CD100/ CD Dawns). And now 2 products CBR 150i and CBR 250R which both will perform better than a Karizma R & Karizma ZMR respectively.

In all this, Honda wants to do to Hero, what it did to Kinetic (By launching a superior product, namely Activa). Even though Hero is much bigger than Kinetic could even dream of, Honda's technology trump-card is hard to ignore for the Indian consumer. And adding to that, the name Honda going out of Hero Honda will also adversely impact customer perception and brand recall and also work in favour of Honda.

I know people may feel this is OT but this actually is very relevant to the discussion of CBR250R Pricing speculation and my revised opinion says that they could, in fact, price is 1.5 lacs ex-factory (like Nano). All taxes extra, taking the OTR price to around 2.1lac.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
