      • I was in a dilemma whether to go for an r15 or the p220,but now after seeing this,i won't mind waiting .Expecting this to be my weekend bike(if the pricing is right),and the unicorn as my commuter bike.

the 250R beats the CBR easily....but my calculations were wrong since CBR's HP isnt given...(though the ratio is still correct :P)

            • Excellent news. Good to see the change in Indian Biking.

Mojo would have to hurry now otherwise they may not sell the first lot

The claim is "" This would effectively mean around 26kmpl

Aha, I had speculated that it would be a 250cc, it's too big to be a 150, I've never heard of a 150cc bike with a 140 rear tyre except the fz16 like my friends have pointed out! A bit disappointed with the single cylinder spec. a twin cylinder producing 30bhp would have been ideal! But nevertheless if this baby produces 25bhp and gives around 30kpl under normal riding conditions and is priced as mentioned in this article then it's goodbye to r15's. Let's watch what Bajaj does... they are very shrewd when it comes to pricing. imagine a ninja for just two lakhs.

Power wise it is down on the Kwacker but then Honda has a better image then Kawasaki. Also in Europe you are restricted to bikes less than 33 odd bhp for two years after you get your learner's license. So it fits in there. Right now there is nothing that Honda has to offer in this segment and hence Kwacker rules.

Also absolute power is crap, if this is a tourer cum commuter it doesn't matter how many bhps are packed. How is the suspension and power delivery matters more than anything else.
Remember a R15 can run rings around a P220 in real world.

Lastly my heart goes out to Hero Honda, because this is what the ZMR should alway have been.

BUt the best part is what it will make the likes of Bajaj, Hero and Yamaha do. Because they would have to do something to compete in this segment.
Expect the next Pulsar or the Zmr to have USD forks and radial calipers.

This is definitely good news, just don't expect this to be cheap as nuts. I don't think it will be below 2.

Sadly this is no good news for me. Because I was hoping someone gets a 400 or a 650 cc stuff.
Thats the 1st post where I'm seeing someone deny that this will dent the R15/ZMR's sales.
I agree with you-in my last post also I had mentioned that CBR250R/Mojo are ushering in a new segment that belongs between 1&3L or rather between our premium production bikes&the green 250cc import.
I, like many others was looking for a full faired 250cc which can cruise easily at 120kmph.Ninja fit the bill but I couldn't afford it-now with this kind of sub 2L price tag, many can consider buying this by paying approximately downpayment of 50-60K&an EMI of <5K a month.
                              Time to rejoice!
                              Quench my thirst with gasoline!

                              • Awesome.. one word

I would love (and thats a big love!!) to own this bike in future. For an average biker like me, going for a 600CC (leave the litre class) doesnt make much sense, given bad roads, insane traffic sense of other motorists, nasty price and monster power to tame. This super sport tourer just fits the bill for all fellas like me. And yes, if its less than 200 grands on road, I would seriously consider buying it. After all its a CBR!!

As some one said, I will keep my Gladiator for daily commuting and the CBR 250R for weekend/ occasional tours.

A nice move by Honda to pull in beginners into the world of biking.
