Remember Ninja 250? The price of Rs.1.75 lakhs was carried by all major publications and came from Rajeev Bajaj himself when talking about the launch plan around three years ago.
To add to Raje's comment, maybe what the Jap meant was: "It will less than 2.5 lakhs!" And I am sure he was talking in Japanese like the Kawasaki guys so the translator made a mistake

Yeah, wasn't the press conference in Thailand? It must have gone like this:Originally posted by Hyperion View PostI guess he thought the reporter was Thai and started talking in Baht :P
Eager beaver reporter: " Mr. tophoncho, how much is the CBR 250R going to be priced at?
Mr. TopHoncho: " The price is very reasonable, it will be far less than 1.5 lakh" baht.
Eager beaver reporter: "1.50 lakhs only including VAT (baht)?"
Mr. TopHoncho: "yes, 1.50 lakh" bahts
All eager beavers start scribbling furiously in their note books. The next day, people rejoice.

Mr. Bajaj never mentioned the Price in any interview. It was the over enthusiastic reporters who went overborad with the Rs. 1.5 Lakh speculation for the Ninja 250R.Originally posted by bluevolt View PostRemember Ninja 250? But Mr. Top Honcho, was the Honda India boss speaking in the Autocar (India) Show (Video posted earlier in the thread).

what i think is that if honda is pricing it at 1.8 lac then it might be thinking of launching all three CBR's namely 250R,150R and the 125R....
Allow me to add my speculation..

i think..
Honda CBR250R - 1.8 lac onroad
Honda CBR150R - 1.15 lac onroad
Honda CBR125R - .9-1 lac onroad- Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Only the 150R would get sold here then... its a much better machinery than the 250R too!
I guess we are still speculating on the price. The price was surely 1.5L... anything more and Honda Showroom in my place will have to clean up cow dung from thier showrooms!Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

Now that is what I call humor!Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostAnything more and Honda Showroom in my place will have to clean up cow dung from thier showrooms!
Seriously, I don't remember who speculated this (maybe Shumi from Overdrive?) but my mind is still stuck on these prices:
1.33L ex-showroom price non ABS
1.45L ex-showroom price C-ABS
Give this to us Honda! We need some money to buy that tailpack also!

that is sad. even the first post on this thread said "under 1.5lacs" !!
the C-ABS version will come to 2.1 lac !!
what saddens me the most is its launch date.
might as well try to get my hands on a second hand ninja
since i will sparsely use the bike.
excepting the price it gives a fair option compared to the one lac costlier ninja.Last edited by yellowspunk; 11-19-2010, 04:50 PM.Regardless, Life shall go on.
