  • if honda is manufacturing the bike here and then export it to other countries then the waiting period of the bike will be less-cause they will be producing in large numbers to meet the indian and foreign demand
superbikes are the biggest blunders on indian roads.

Remember, nobody cares about the actual specs, if it looks like a big bike it must be fast is their thought process. Can't help it with the large crowds of uneducated posers roaming around here.

        • ^^ ya I saw the same in the register & was disappointed! Wish could correct the pricing and write 1.5 lakhs on-road for all those idiots!
The lady told me the same thing she told Nanotechnology so I am guessing the news is true that the bike bookings will start in January! .

This is what i have always been skeptical about the products which bears the tag "HONDA".

HONDA knows how much premium they can charge and still get away with it. HONDA and VFM are the words which cant be put in a sentence and i hoped this bike to be an exception. Also i think Honda wont be deviating from their marketing strategies on pricing as they very well know that their brand has a much higher 'brand/premium' image in India as compared to other countries. So they can still price the bike at over 2 lakhs and crunch in decent numbers.

            • exactly..

if a Kawasaki is available at 3 lac, then why not a similar displacement Honda ???
              that's all Honda would think...

locally made non abs bike should be genuinely around 1.5...
if a locally made cast iron 350 single can be made in 1.5.
so should this 250 be, again a 220 is available in 83k by bajaj...

look at VFR for example, its priced much higher than a C-ABS CBR too.
it doesn't make much sense to price it soo high that only limited people can buy it, if it is priced over 1.5 to 1.8, i won't be able to buy it, and anyways i will still prefer mojo, as it has MORE DISPLACEMENT and again is locally made.
              at an equal cost..
Giving a lot to a fiero.

              • Just read one Honda CBR250 review article in AutoBild magazine................

Honda CEO has announced that CBR250 will be priced far less than 1.5 lacs

Hoping to get it around 1 to 1.25 lacs....................

Amazing bike with loads of feature.................

I am sure I'll be one of the proud owner of 1 Honda CBR250

                • I request everyone to stop these speculation threads where we give them an idea of price.
Because, Bajaj will do the same when they launch bigger bikes and price them higher.
And they will screw our happiness.

                  Please stop this guys!

                      • Interesting read

The Honda CBR250R, while some people are somewhat disappointed in the specifications of the new Honda CBR250R, a Honda spoke person has told us that the choice for the single-cylinder for the Honda CBR250R was not only a financial decision, the specifications of the new 2011 Honda CBR250R are within the specs set out for the new Moto3 motorcycle race class which will replace the 125GP by 2012.

The CS250RE, the new Honda CBR250R engine, is a liquid-cooled 4-stroke DOHC single cylinder with a bore of 76mm and stroke of 55mm, 249cc engine. The maximum bore for the Moto3 race class cannot excite 81mm. The fueling for is managed by a PGM-FI (fuel-injection system), which is programmable with some tools currently already available in Thailand.

With the creation of the Honda CBR250R, Honda have the groundwork completed should they choose to go for the CBR250R as the basis for the NRS250 racebike. NRS250 stands for Next Racing Standard, and the NRS250 will be created by HRC (Honda Racing).

Regulations set for the Moto3 race class specify that each engine must last a required minimum of three races and costs of a Moto3 motorcycle should not exceed more than 12,000 Euro. It's reasonable to assume that Honda could also develop a high performance road-going version of the 250cc race bike (Honda CBR250RR), to replace the venerable CBR250 and develop racing ties with its entry-level road motorcycles.

As one of the Japan's biggest motorcycle manufacturers, Honda is keen to be a major player in all three racing categories, MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3, and will leverage its racing involvement in order to promote its road-going products.

I am hoping the price to be withing a reasonable 1.5 lakhs.

Imagine the joy of the guys who have entered 2.75, 3.0 lakhs in the register when they come to know that this beauty will be available for 1.5 lakhs.

                            • i am sorry if my post started this speculation regarding price..

but tell me, if Honda's CEO has accepted the price range of 1.5.
lets consider 1.8 max to max for a C-ABS version on road.

now if all this is already mentioned, then why the hell do they have females with registers at their stalls at the auto show asking customers how much are they willing to pay ???

i asked for the estimated cost and i get to see a list of many people mentioning how much they are willing to pay...
now as a company, if i can sell my product at a reasonable cost, its well and good for the buyer, and will satisfy me too.

but, if the same buyer is willing to pay twice of that amount, why will i not try to achieve the max i can ??

i know honda will be keeping an eye on this thread, all i can say on behalf of every xbhp member is that, there's no point of asking people how much they are willing to pay, we are real bikers of India, we are wiling to pay NOT MORE THAN 1.5 LAC.

if other companies have asked for a 3 lac price tag for a 250, sadly ONLY 1000 units have been sold so far, if a cbr 250 can be surely priced at 1.5 or less, 1000 units will be sold within a month...

                              i bet that....
