same here sheel! Just curious...does it have a single headlamp?? or the other 2 are hidden on the sides?? the more i see the 600F, the more I love it, and at the same time forgetting the cbr600rr. This is one of the most gorgeous bikes to come in 2011 and layered fairings are in, officially as Honda seems to have embraced them more aggressively.Originally posted by sheelpriye View PostYou know my love for the S1000RR, but am also in love with other liter machines from Japan & also the RSV-4, but then nowadays I have started to dream a bit practically too
My simple criterion is a I-4.
This is what appears in most of my dreams

OT :Originally posted by gsferrari View PostI think the time is appropriate to chime in here and say something that has been on my mind for a LONG time.
I think the idea behind buying the CBR250R shouldnt be to get the performance of a 600 or a litre. There are other significant things to a bike, like handling and braking, that is why serious riders should buy the CBR, Ninja, R15 etc. These are the only true bikes in India (my opinion). Although down on power(R15) they got good overall chasis and handling. They brake with a decent amount of feedback at front and rear. They teach you where to look out for traction when leaned over. Power and Buzz are only secondary on a good handling bike.
The CBR250R will be a bike that will be outgrown very quickly..so will the Ninja250R be. But that doesnt hold ground for 90% of the riders who will buy them to ride in the city or for touring.
Once you swing your leg over a litre...everything else feels underpowered. Hell I rode friends R6 the other day and it felt seriously underpowered because I am used to riding a litre now. If an I4 600 feels underpowered then so will the 250R. The litre is at fault here not the 250cc puny engine. But someone riding an RTR, P220 for years will be pleasantly overjoyed/overwhelmed with the handling and the response of the chasis and engine on the CBR250R and the Ninja250R
What is it like to maintain a 600 or a litre? Its an expense to fix these bikes....OEM plastics are super super expensive. If you bend your wheel rim its gonna cost you like half a lac right there. So a bloke may save up the money over a period of 6 years to come up with 15 lacs at the end of 6 years but to maintain the bike he will need to slog for another 6 years.
The GT650R is gonna be an awesome deal because of all the above mentioned things. Its not gonna be super expensive to maintain...its a decent handling machine with good feedback at the levers...and it will also have the power or buzz that will last an average rider for more than a couple of years for sure.
I am rambling here but the point I am trying to get out there is that one shouldnt jump over small bikes with the intention of hitting up the big bikes in the near future. I am not even talking about whether one will be able to handle the power. I am talking about getting accustomed to good handling and braking and the overall feel of what it is to ride at 150kmph and steer and brake a bike at those speeds. It is imperative that one knows how to brake and handle and it is imperative that one learns that on a not so powerful/expensive machine.sigpic
when i ride bullet before my bullet was solid condition but i once race with a Ceilo car and my engine size. mechancic say bullet is good bike but no racing. it is good for three people and very powerful.
one day when i become rich i but ducati and then I race with cars. not now.

Ferrari, stop pissing on our wet dreams... as it is I'll be breaking my year old daughter's trust fund to afford the 250, wish we all could be able to buy and maintain the liter class bikes...Originally posted by gsferrari View PostI think the time is appropriate to chime in here and say something that has been on my mind for a LONG time.
I love bikes and I respect all bikers no matter what they ride. You will almost NEVER catch me riding my MT01 with a group of Superbike riders...but I am very happy to ride with aspiring riders in various G2G chapters on their Karizmas, Pulsars etc.
I would HATE for an aspirational biker to save up for several months to buy the CBR250R and then go through disappointment because the bike wasn't all it was made up to be. Disappointment is inevitable because at 1.5L the bike is still expensive for what is essentially a 250cc liquid cooled single! At 1.8L (which will end up at 2L or more on the road) I am seriously concerned.
Take for example the Ninja 250R which is a great motorcycle IF you are aware of what it can do and if you are fine with that sort of performance. At 3L I think it is very poor value for money! You just don't get the big-bike "Buzz" that you would, and rightly should, expect for that kind of money. If you ride a 400cc four or a 600cc four, you get this feeling of expansive power and torque which makes riding so much fun. You get the noise that goes with the performance and adds to the sensory thrill.
The 250R felt like too little bike for too much money and it didn't give me the buzz that I was hoping for. If the 250R felt like a diet coke then how is the CBR250R going to measure up to your expectations?
I suspect many of you who buy the CBR hoping to experience the "Buzz" will be left wanting. Keep your expectations down...this is a successor to the Karizma and not a baby Fireblade! the 250R Ninja is no baby ZX10R either.
Save your money for the 650s and 750s that are coming soon instead of blowing it on these motorcycles. If you are offended by what I am saying here...suck an egg. One ride and you will be yearning for more power. Singles and small capacity twins simply cannot satisfy our desperate need for the "Buzz"
As for your "yearnings" and "desperate need for the Buzz" have u tried a V!@#$%^&.... DELETED! LEWD POST....
Am kidding....

even when the real big bikes get here it would be too costly for most to afford it ! a single cylinder cbr costs 2L even though manufactured here.. imagine a 600 !! lol not gonna happen not in the near future maybe a decade later till then i need a ride and the cbr seems to tick all the boxes. or yea instead of the 250 ninja could go for the hyosung but let it get here with a price tag first.
totally agree with you bro !Originally posted by TenHut View PostOT :

What I heard is that the CBR250 can do 3 digits easily thats like 120kmph easily how much more do you want on indian roads, also please take into account your safety you may go upto 150 once in a while on big bikes but not every day do you? I feel the cbr250 is good even if it gives only 26bhpI would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

Anyway back to CBR250. I would agree with 'gsferrari' when comment is taken from individual's perspective. And I would agree with the counter argument presented by 'TenHut'. From a general perspective, the excitement as evince from this thread is proof that there will be many takers if its priced below 2L.
One must take into account that for a vast majority, the idea of power will never be understood properly or taste, including me. I've heard about it, I've read about it and I've seen them in movies/TV
. Book understanding or cerebral activity if you like..At least my head had some understanding but its unlikely my butt ever will as I don't know anyone who would offer me his 1Litre bike for a run. It takes both head and butt to really appreciate what its all about.
Perhaps as they say 'Ignorance is bliss' and may be so in this case. If I ever get my hands on single cylinder CBR250 for somewhere around 1.5, you bet I gonna be as excited as anyone with their CBR1000RR. After all, my butt is yet unspoilt

As long as the buyer's expectations are in-line with the capabilities of the CBR then there should be no problem. Trouble starts when you outgrow the vehicle's performance envelope (and this will happen fairly quickly) and you WILL need more...
You always need more...ask Insaneroller who has a 14R that can crack a genuine 300Km/h if he is satisfied!!
For me it is not the top speed but the "buzz" which can be from the acceleration, torque off the line, handling, braking, engine and exhaust note etc. I would love to have a 600 limited to 150Km/h because all the BEST things about big bikes can be enjoyed on such a bike.
Anyway...you guys get my drift so I'll just bugger off on my 223cc Karizma (have groceries to do!)Kriss : 15.06.1981 - 11.10.2009
You will not be forgotten...RIP
