Why is that a bad thing??? a bike being more affordable???Originally posted by yellowspunk View Posti'm worried about it too. If the R15 @ 1.1L is so common on the road we cant expect much exclusivity for this bike either.
If you want exclusivity, try the 3L Ninja

For exclusivity we always do have a Ninja, there are lots of other people (like me) who are not able to fulfill there dream of owning a great 250 CC bike because of high price range of Ninja and I think CBR 250 gives us a chance to do that if priced in the price range of 1.3-1.5
Moreover it is a Single Cylinder so we can expect it to be competitively priced
and hope that people like me can buy this one

ofcourse the ninja is priced correct for what it is.no 2 ways about it.Originally posted by Technician View PostAll of your views seems suspiciously to be a case of poor ranting.
OT - And I was about to come to the conclusion that Ninja is affordable and value for money for what it offers as is made out by some of fellow bikers.

affordability is different thing altogether. Also comparing a twin & a single are equally baseless.
For ex :I can now right not buy a superbike in india but can i "afford" it, is a different ball game my friendsigpic

errrr don't make us confusedOriginally posted by Technician View PostCan someone please take the burden to differentiate between the terms 'Priced correct' and 'affordability'. If it is related to something called exclusivity or what ?
Please enlighten.

@DK told that Ninja is worth at 3 lakhs i.e priced correctly(not us Bajaj/Kawaski) for that machine...
Affordability - even the Ninja is VFM its not affordable for him. that's it PERIOD...

'Affordability' is in the back pocket of the beholder...

Considering the fact that it will be made indigenously, I do not see any reason that it can not be priced at
1.1 or 1.2 L...
Though it would be silly to compare both, but when a company can make and sell a car priced at around
1L and still make profits, why are people willing to pay
1.5L ( and even more than that in some cases)??
I support MG_biker (who said similarily somewhere in this thread) that it has to be cheaper than what many think.
Ofcourse it will contain goodies, it indeed is a single cylinder and people involved in manufaturing process in the forum may understand very well the difference in costs when you make a single cylinder engine and a twin. This is just one of many things which can/should make CBR250R cheaper!!!
Just we are getting a "OMG" bike in India for the very first time within buying range for many , it cant be thought that we will pay
1.5L

I was not too concerned about ninja pricing but of the Sbks available.
by example:I have 15 L in my account.A fireblade can be purchased with that. this is example of price.
with respect to money in account & price of the bike A=B i.e. I can buy it.
Now ,Do I "wish" to buy it -- hell yes
Can I "afford" to buy it at this point.No.why because of other priorities & plans.
Someone had explained purchasing parity & buying power & those are the foundations of affordability.
If someone has the money left after everything else or "perceived" notions & that extra will to get it right now than the laws of economics are bent & decisions are made by "emotions" in which case price & affordability go for a toss.
we have had examples of many a guys here who have done that.
As for exclusivity there can be no other better examples than the DUCs that are available worldover.{hope this example is only enough ,else would demand another explanation
}

Why worry what others drive? Get fr yourself the best you can and then enjoy it on an open roadOriginally posted by yellowspunk View Posti'm worried about it too. If the R15 @ 1.1L is so common on the road we cant expect much exclusivity for this bike either.
. We are bikers my friend not fashion divas wanting an exclusive eye catching gown. Let everyone get the best that he can and wants. I for one do not desire any exclusivity but only a pure biking pleasure.

So, It comes out as the pricing is decided by the seller (hence priced correctly) which has been decided mostly on exclusivity factor , whereas the affordability is subject to individual's capacity to pay (or a large number of people's capacity to pay). Isn't it. Am I wrong? So, Ninja 250 is unaffordable to a very large section of bikers at its current price, irrespective of what it offers as a package of an able performing machine. Please correct me if I am wrong. How about a platina owner (Rs. 35k) upgrading to an FZ (Rs. 75k - borderline affordable but priced correctly in the face of competition) but not buying a Ninja 250 (unaffordability factor alone). To me, both the terms cannot go along side by side.errrr don't make us confused

OnTopic - Has anyone noticed the absence of crankshaft wheels (like in Gladiator), which make crankshaft quite heavy, in the new CBR 250 with the use of counter balancer shaft, and a first for a Honda in India. It seems it is going to be quite a revver with almost no vibration at all.The Original CBZ
