That was the essence of my post - that price makes most of the things 'exclusive' or not. Since people were expecting exclusivity in a relatively affordable sportsbike, I was just pointing that out...Originally posted by Rockkyyy View PostEven Ninja comes exclusive because of its price. If Ninja was manufactured here and was costing less than 2 lac , would you call it as exclusive or will compare to the pretty girls in Delhi or Chandigarh
Lets assume Onroad cost of CBR 250R is between 1.4 lac to 1.7[ABS] . It is a big money for majority of the Indian Middle class family. It will be exclusive at-least for some time , but may not be as exclusive as Ninja.
When ZMA was launched it was exclusive even in Bangalore, but not now.
Same would be the case for Ninja 250 and CBR 250R in a few years to come.
And I did not compare the Ninja to the pretty girls in Chandigarh!

And now the CBR 250R seems to be a bike which meets that criteria - if speculations are to be believed.
If it is exclusivity is what you so seek, a Ninja 250 and upwards is what you should aiming at, not the CBR 250! Or move to a city where you are the only guy who can afford a CBR 250R!
dude you did not read my previous posts. xbhp is what 25k people in a country of one billion? lol seriously people should stop using xbhp as a market example. we all want 600cc bikes for 3lacs lol evryone thought the R15 was heck costly but now you see one at every signal. 1.5lacs isnt small money in india bro. and i cant afford a ninja.. :|Originally posted by bluevolt View PostThat was the essence of my post - that price makes most of the things 'exclusive' or not. @tenhut: Ummm the C-ABS does act before your brakes lock up....they don't sit ideal.
It keeps distributing the braking stress between the brakes..

That is what I was wondering...ther is a talk of C-ABS and you havent pounced on it yet...and here you go....Originally posted by TenHut View PostC-ABS does not do the braking for you. Firstly, it doesnt do anything when the bike is being ridden....its just sitting there idle waiting for your wheel to lock. Secondly, it doesnt do anythinng EVEN when you are braking...even under heavy braking it sits there idle doing nothing.
It only comes into picture when you are LOCKING EITHER OF THE WHEELS.
So when riding..if you use the front, front wheel will stop the bike...if you use the rear, rear wheel will stop the bike. Now while using either the front or the rear(we are talking of brakes here) if you act like a noob (aka under panic situations) and grab a handfull of the front lever or if you stand on the rear brake lever THEN AND ONLY THEN the C-ABS will be triggered to prevent any sort of wheel lockage. Thats Honds word...and you can verify that by going straight and grabbing a handfull of the front lever. The bike will stop vehemently killing your kids but the wheel will not lock and hence not skid.
Now try doing the same thing(grabbing the front lever like a maniac) on any non C-ABS bike and you would have crashed you bike already.
C-ABS has nothing to do with the speed at which the bike is being ridden.
But the system is activated above a decent speed threshold. Theres a C-ABS lamp in the instrument cluster which remains lit untill about 15kmh, once you are above that speed C-ABS lamp switches off telling you that its now active and is waiting for a wheel to lock(notice being active is................................................ ....
Good good...
Nice little piece of info..

Yes, its accelaration will be even less than CB Unicorn/Dazzler. That's why you can notice that they have not given a chrome finished hologram like those bikes have-CBR 250R has only a sticker on the tank, to indicate low accelaration motorcycle!Originally posted by pkb View PostCBR 250R is going to be a touring bike. Does that mean its acceleration will be lesser than lower displacement racing bikes like R15, Apache, p220 etc. ?

P220, Apache ....Racing bikes...
and CBR only a simple 'tourer'.........Bahut nainsaafi hai bhai ye to....!
Nonetheless, I did not understand your basis of this point...If it was a question, I really dont think so...
Under all practical comparable parameters, CBR250 should be better at accelerating from nought than 220, Apache and R15....Last edited by Devilpulsarian; 11-17-2010, 02:10 PM.2002 - Pulsar 150 Classic (Still owned)

isn't the acceleration (0 to 60) of RTR180 is comparable to NINJA250R (if not quicker)
but i think, cbr250r is well placed between r-15 & ninja, but if they price it higher than 1.5 lakh then every one knows what happened to MOJO

If somebody in mumbai get this bike next year then please contact me, I wanna ride it,lol....I just bought my first bike around 6 months ago and am not planning to get another bike in the next 2 or 3 years (unless this bike starts giving majour probs)...In a way it is good that I wont be able to buy another bike for such a long time because if new 250cc's come out then I would have more options then...I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.
