  • I think they are gauging the response for the bike in India through the form. Bookings should be starting from january and one can expect deliveries in 2-3 months, thereafter

I wanted this bike to be a good bike for travelling, But I guess they are trying to make it a bike for Indias traffic filled roads
can't u talk anything sensible? ur claims and ur id are a perfect match.

Stock P220s have been reported to go till 153kmph (on Speedo) with 7.3% of speedo error. So, thats a true GPS speed of 141.83kmph. - P220 Owner

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Only if you are very brave and get a long stretch of open road.

Anyway if the CBR250R is really priced at lower than 1.5 lakhs, then it will be a hard time for the Yamaha R15 and Karizma ZMR to justify their price tags.

          1. The CBR250R looks much better

          2. The CBR 250R packs in the best of tech

          3. The CBR 250R promises good performance.

Although i dont know if ZMR would be having ANY justification but the R15 will be performing better on the tracks & hence it can be a justification to it. Moreover the honda is manifesting its bike as a good touring bike & hence i dont think it would be good on tracks.

For majority of the R15 buyers, its the "image" of a track bike (read R1) which sells, most of whom will never visit the race tack in Chennai and Coimbatore in his life. Even if he might live in Chennai/South.

The CBR250R has got that image too and the CBR tag.. with a fatter rear end to boot.

[P.S: All the above comments have been made keeping in mind the majority of the crowd who makes the sales numbers tick and a business viable.]

                  • ^You are tempting me Payeng sir!

If a twin cylinder 250 cc bike comes up by any manufacturer within 2-2.5L, I might consider it in year or so.

The best 250 cc twin in the world, the Ninja 250R is already here.. agreed that it is a bit pricey, but then it is the best that we have.

Lets wait and see how the CBR250R turns out.

If i had 3L with me, i would go to the probiking this evening and book one. But as I don't, i might as well hope and save for a bigger inline 2-3-4 cylinder bike.

A single cylinder costs less for a manufacturer..

if the Honda CBR250R becomes a bigger hit than the Ninja 250R "internationally", then Yamaha, Suzuki and even Kawasaki might be forced to start thinking the single cylinder way.

I do not understand, where comes the context of competition among the CBR250R and the Ninja 250R. Agree, its invetiable to compare the two owing to their identical engine displacement, but its not viable to compare them in terms of performance.

Going by the way, Honda is pitching it, it surely leaves less space to consider this baby as a performer. I feel, had Honda not used the CBR tag, there wont have been so much of fuss of its performance. What about a VFR 250 tag ?

Since the "CBR" tag has long been associated with unadulterated performnace, there is so much of hue & cry about the performance of this bike.
