250 from the CBR and 150 from the Unicorn\Dazzler...

Honda has be harping about giving the world an affordable quarter ltr that would benefit from low cost of production available in India\Thailand... the customs officer might have got confused with a Green Kawasaki CBR250R
Incorrigible ! Made me laugh out loud.

All this talk on pricing seems to be like a discussion between the heart and the head. The heart says - Go on Honda, price it at 1.5 and rake in the moolah. The head says - Honda has always been arrogant with their pricing, they could still price it higher than what figures we are talking about and get away with it.

    Hope the heart wins.

      1. When is he(custom officer) getting it?
If before april,2011 I think that would be in form of a CBU imported from thailand and hence the high-price.Honda said they will manufacture the bike in india and price it ~1.5ish but that doesnt go off the shelf before april,11.

      2. Is the new CBR already on sale in thailand?
He's getting it at the same time. He definitely said CBR250R. He knows about the green kwacker and its price tag of 3.2lac on road.

But, as I said, nothing is for sure. He ''might'' be mis-informed after all

Then you mean 3.2 for the Ninja is S#!T 4 a twin cylinder? Take it easy buddy. Lets wait and see what the price comes to. Go to the 1000th Ninja sold blah blah thread and see what pulsating220 has to say.

Apparently, the CBR250R is coming in at a price of...... shockingly.... and to the disappointment of many..... 2.50Lac on road! THe customs official himself is buying one for his son/relative or something and he was made aware of the price the bike ''might'' hit the Indian roads at.

Now this piece of news, I am sharing with you, because it is very reliable according to me, but, there is a HIGH chance that it might not be true. He said very clearly that it was the Single cylinder Honda CBR250R. @2.50Lacs.

Could be mis-informed. I just felt like this is relevant news for this thread. Don't bash me if its wrong :P
Weird as can be. Probably importing from thiland hence the price. Should have wait till its manufactured and launched in India.

Anyway, I'd rely more on the journalists who were present on the scene than than a custom official who probably has no clue that its going to be manufactured locally.

Personally the cbr150R muffler unit looks a lot better than the 250s and resembles the vfrs to the T. But again, designs should differ.

OT though just want to add. I know couple of IT folks, there's very little to say talk except one who happens to be straighter than a palm tree. Anyway, The Customs guys are interesting lot. BTW, don't keep a tab on them though they like to talk. Not all department/posting provides opportunity to make money, some does and they are highly sought after....obviously . When they get that opportunity. Man, you can instantly see new expensive stuffs arriving in their residence. Seems, they don't stay posted there for long so they make try to make as much as possible. Its a ritual .

                        • Much is discussed about CB Baby's performance/ BHP/ Cylinders and price but I wonder how does the suspensions feel.

The trend these days is to make it stiff and call it a "performance machine". Well true if you don't wanna bounce nervously at high speeds or while carving corners.

Then while attempting a "saddle-sore"ish ride you actually end up getting one, a bad case at that
I hope honda makes it good enough to lap up pot holes and those darn rumble strips!
I hope the adjustable rear shock is able to cope with this.

The predominant visual difference between 2 CBR's (150R & 250R) are the shape of the exhaust and the front cowl plastic...which can bee seen below and also the width of the full faring and the tires differ.

                              Regarding handling from ET ZigWheels

Tall clip-ons and lots of space on the seat again hint at a more touring role than a proper corner carver, which should widen the base of buyers, while making it an even better bike for a daily commute. Bring the engine to life and its smoothness and refinement despite the solitary reciprocating piston make the work gone into achieving this obvious. Slot the precise gearshift into first, release the light clutch and you have acceleration aided by easily rising revs that make the front wheel go light with haste. The short stroke motor (76mm bore x 55mm stroke) has almost the same dimensions as Honda's famed litre-class CBR1000RR, as shown by the eagerness of the engine to pick speed. As the throaty engine note rises, the torque drops just a tad bit in the midrange before a blastful top end hits around 8,500 rpm and then continues up to its high-revving redline. Throttle response is excellent and expect the engine to work just as well in city traffic as on highways and twisties.
