Its completely on YOU. What would you like to own?? A brand new bike from the showroom or a second hand bike about which you dont know anything. My pick would be a brand new bike. Atleast you would have a satisfaction that your bike is not used by anyone.

if it would have been my decision definitely the new honda....

not mainly because it will be a showroom bike but because of the ABS which I think is one of the most important feature ever included on bikes in India.... just imagine cruising on a 4 lane highway at speeds close to 150kmph suddenly a cow decides to take a stroll or a lady carrying woods attempts to cross the road and freezes in middle seeing and hearing the 250...

          ninja sound was disappointing.
Ninja's sound wasnt disappointing. YOU were expecting the wrong sort of sound from the wrong sort of motorcycle. How do I know ? Because you are expecting an even wronger sort of soud from the single cylinder CBR250R

Its always safer to get a fresh bike but if you really want a sports bike, well then Ninja it is.

              that's all Honda would think...

locally made non abs bike should be genuinely around 1.5...

so should this 250 be, again a 220 is available in 83k by bajaj...

look at VFR for example, its priced much higher than a C-ABS CBR too.
it doesn't make much sense to price it soo high that only limited people can buy it, if it is priced over 1.5 to 1.8, i won't be able to buy it, and anyways i will still prefer mojo, as it has MORE DISPLACEMENT and again is locally made.
              at an equal cost..
You are right mate.. I should be prices at 1.5 lac
              But:

              • this thread never seem to be out of action. from the first day till today ,posts are flooding in like a tsunami. this cbr bike,if it comes at the expected price, is a dream come true for thousands of bikers. it's exactly what we all have been waiting for years-a 250 that is reliable, resonably priced and with ample performance. indian biking industry is finally waking up to quality products.let us not simply waste our energy comparing ninja with the cbr and stuff. let us wait for the product to be launched, then buy it and rip the hell out of it.

superbikes are the biggest blunders on indian roads.

                • @Mods why not add a price poll to this thread ? Like what price one is willing to pay ?

If I have to opt, I am not buying if cost is more than 1.5 for a Non ABS

                  • the CBR Sound

It doesnt seem like the new 250 cc machines that come out carry that much of a roar with regard to the sound. the Ninja sounds like an offroad bike and not like a racing machine at all and so does the new CBR250 in the video posted on youtube.
The best 250cc was produced in the 90's im sure everyone here knows that 250 CBR and what it sounds like... Now thats what Honda should make the new CBR sound like.... Damn people here in my country still go mad over the old CBR 250 and its sound... it still has a big demand here and you find thousands of CBRs here!
WHo says you need a woman to feel what a ride is like???... get a bike instead!!! ***Honda Hornet**

The old cbr 250 rr was an inline four my dear friend & that gives out the buzzing sound/roar as you call it

the new cbr (name only ) is a single cylinder

ye olde CBR250RR was inline-4 thats why it sounded so good. You cant change the laws of physics to make a single sound like an inline-4. When will people realize this?
This is what GSFerrari was referring to "expectations" in his post.

                          • Today i feel happy. People realise the worth of inline four engine! And the heavenly howl it creates. Vuum Vuum

I am definitely not going for a CBR250RR.
