But again, like I said before, we will get a clear picture in the next few weeks on the colours.

There's a confusion. "the mechanic" in discussion is a forum member who booked the bike in this thread http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/163...-booked-2.htmlOriginally posted by gsferrari View Post

yup. maybe.Originally posted by bprags View PostThe price difference will be almost 35K, do you think it is worth paying 35K just for the ABS? It is not as if the non-abs Honda wont have brakes
, it will still have far better brakes even in Non-abs version.
but... i think it's worth it.
specially if u take into consideration
the fact that ABS will prevent any kind of wheel locking... which, in the long run
is definitely worth it... (special thanks to every indian pedestrain out there.)
consider this... the "extra" cost of ABS will prolly save a few (potentially expensive)
wheel locks which eventually turn into falling..

ABS is a must have, especially in our road conditions where people and stray animals (both are same though) jump out of nowhere. I Never preferred a car without ABS. But, what about the battery draining issues with ABS bikes? I wont like to push start my 2 lac rupee bike at 1 in the night.Street racing is for Squids trying to make up for their small equipment

re: Honda CB250R
Honda has a notorious history of long waiting list for its bike (due to extraneous factors - strike, not enough assembly line for a product line etc.,). Hope the booking to delivery cycle is realistic!!!Originally posted by Ram1883 View PostKiller looks + Honda legendary refinement! This is going to be a great product, maybe the R15 story all over again. For less than 2 lacs it's impractical to expect a Twin IMO.**@@ttained B!ke!ng Nirvanaa....

An ownership review here My new CBR250. Quick review. - Honda CBR250R Discussion Forum
Some snippets from the thread.
Speedo:-
The speedo feels accurate and flying along at 125kph is no problem at all, probably at about 6500-7000rpm. Pull back and it'll shoot you up to 140kph no problem.
Issues
The one disappointment is that over 130kph the amount of wind being deflected into your head and upperbody is too uncomfortable to sustain or accelerate. It simply needs a bigger windscreen to be able to cruise comfortably above 130kph.
Ride
Feels light as a feather when on it, and the gearbox is smooth as silk. It's perfectly stable at high speed and I haven't noticed any vibrations even though it's only a single cylinder.
FE:-
About 30km per litre.

so basically its not a high revving engine like the R15 but would be fantabulous for touringOriginally posted by bprags View PostAn ownership review here My new CBR250. Quick review. - Honda CBR250R Discussion Forum

Much better upgrade to the Zma than the ZMR

That's how Honda has been positioning it, as a Global Touring Bike (they have even launched a game based on touring on its World Honda Site) which can be ridden for daily commute as well.
The CBR250R definitely looks like a proper upgrade to the Karizma R.

I had called up Sapphire Honda (Bangalore) to enquire about CBR250R.
The guy over there said the ex-showroom prices for Non-ABS and ABS version will be less than 1.5L and 1.7L respectively. Prices are not yet decided it seems.
Also, they would be getting the display bike in March, and would be giving test ride as well. Not sure they'll give test ride to everyone who comes there or only to those who have booked it. They also said that if I book it now, they would be able to deliver it in April.Sudeep P Nambiar

The chartacter of the engine is quite the opposite to that of the R15, but this one definitely sounds apt for touring. From the CBR250 Forum:Originally posted by darkknight View Postso basically its not a high revving engine like the R15 but would be fantabulous for touring

Acceleration is all in the low-mid end so kicks in immediately, but maxes out about 8500rpm so then it's time to change gear.
Although an upgrade, it will be difficult for an R15 addict to adjust to this bike.
EDIT:
Whats the point in giving test ride to those who book it!? Even if one is not happy with the bike after the test ride, there will be nothing he can do as the bike is already booked.Originally posted by sudeepnbr View PostAlso, they would be getting the display bike in March, and would be giving test ride as well. The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Is it true? When my friend booked his ZMA with 10K and he decided to go for another bike and he got his 10K back after cancellation. As the CBR is imported from Thailand it seems we cant cancel the booking?Originally posted by tibby View PostWhats the point in giving test ride to those who book it!? I was just replying to Sudeep's post bro. I'm not presenting any fact here.Originally posted by Binoy View PostIs it true? If test rides will be given only on booking & the amount is non-refundable, then what I said above will hold good, & hence the test ride will make no sense whatsover.
If test rides will be given only on booking & the amount is refundable, then people who want to only test ride the bike (& not buy it), will test ride it & then cancel their booking stating whatever reasons & get their amount back. So all one will need is liquid cash for the booking amount (INR 5,000) in their pocket, which they will anyways get back.
If test rides will be given to anyone who asks for it & without booking, then there will be a long queue. Every person on the street will want to take a test ride.
