A sport tourer producing an extra 5 bhp with much better instrument, built and Ride quality is IMO a good upgrade if you've been having a 220 for long.

No hate Honda no love Bajaj.
Any day Honda >>> Bajaj for sure.Originally posted by xionite View Postu're kinda auto-agreeing that the CBR will be better in quality.
There may be lot of differences but at the end of day they are same.5bhp only? really?
is that the only difference between the P220 and the CBR250R?
- not a smoother engine?
- not liquid cooling?
- not a full fairing?
- not better tyres?
- not properly designed chasis? (not just something that was done a decade ago)
- not ABS?
Okay.
Smooth engine : Even 220 has a smooth engine. if you put a helmet on you don't hear any engine voice. what can you see is speed and feel the pickup.
Liquid cooling : Expect on a hot summer afternoon, 220 is best even with out liquid cooling.
Full firing : unless your doing 150+ for few min they are not useful.
For a good 80-100 full firing doesn't make any difference.
Tyres: i agree.
chassis: doesn't make any difference.
ABS : this is the only thing that's attracting me. ABS is a must need for Indian road conditions.
But, again i don't think they are powerful like cbr600 or 1000.
i agree but i don't agreecomparing the pricing to that of a P220 is a joke. a really bad one too.
.
Hmmmm...the P220 is a good bike for all of what u've mentioned.
I 1000.1% Doubt it.hmmmmmm... not really. totally possible. loads of places.
You must start some wherewow! i don't even know where to begin to disagree with that.
.
I'm not interested in 2nd hand bikes.it's called the CBR400RR. u can get one second hand for about 2 lac.
u can put the balance 2 lac towards a spares & maintenance budget.
it's perfect for indian roads.
and it's one bad mother!
Mileage is a big issue :
i hope Cbr250r gives at lest 30 kmpl.
220 gives a good 35+ kmpl if we are billow 120 kmph.
The days we do 140 with cbr for 1 min are RAREONLY THING KEEPING YOUR BLOOD COOL IS THE WIND RUSH

Actually my point is already 220 owners will feel bore with cbr250r after some time for sure. 220 to 400 is a good upgrade if they want to enter 1000s in coming future.Originally posted by Binoy View Postmmm... that seems to me not an acceptable statement...

400 --> 600 --> 1000 is good
220 --> 250 --> 280 --> 310 --> 340 with 5 bhp difference in power is REAL BAD

This thread is getting really boring.... if the 220 crowd don't wanna buy the CBR, Fine. They don't have to keep justifying why their bike is superior or why it makes more sense...
At least let the Honda arrive in India and let us try it out for real before rejecting it outright..
So many of U guys were crying out hoarse for a proper world class, contemporary 250 to arrive at our shores. And now we are getting one of the best 250s worldwide, u guys start complaining that it's too expensive and just 5bhp more than a Pulsar 220!! Guys, we are getting it cheap as compared to the rest of the world. And quality doesn't come cheap.
Some of U say that U'd rather buy a 400cc or a 600cc. But I'm pretty sure that when the bigger bikes actually arrive in India for 4-6 lakhs, there'd be too few of us who would put our money where our mouths are...
U'll be saying that my splendour gives 80kms a ltr and gets me from point A to B just as well, so why should i pay so much more for xx hp..
We should all applaud Honda for bringing the CBR to India and probably throwing the gates wide open for proper, world-class quarter liter motorcycles to start arriving.
If you don't like it, fine. If U can't afford it, fine. Just don't bad mouth the product and say my Pulsar is better because of a,b,c, reasons.
All these childish, immature posts degrade the quality of the thread and thereby the forum as a whole..

One can never satisfy everybody
HMSI needs to be applauded for not just bringing in the CBR250R to India but manufacturing it here itself so that we get the pricing benefit.
HMSI also needs to be applauded to fit in a C-ABS, the first ever on a mass bike.
By the way, if a Honda ABS can cost Rs. 30,000 then the TVS Apache RTR ABS shown at the auto expo would probably remain another concept from TVS. Unless of course its built/manufacturer differently.

I booked my CBR on Saturday (01-01-11) in Silicon Honda at Banashankari Ring road. I paid 5000/- as a booking fee. I chose black as my Color.
The best part was the sales persons was not even aware of the type of 2 variants (ABS and non ABS) being released. They said, there are 2 models one is normal and one is deluxe. One guy even said, the normal version is without faring and the deluxe is with the Faring.I had to clarify them it was ABS and Non ABS variant.
Anyway, I booked mine and my wait has started.Yamaha Enticer: 2003 - SOLD
Royal Enfield Thunderbird : 2005 - SOLD
Yamaha FZ 16: 2008 - SOLD
Honda CBR250R : 2011

I am going to book mine with C ABS (not sure if I have to chose black or a red one) on Monday.. BTW did they mention anything about the onroad price? It would hardly matter as long as its about 2L.
