    Yoohoo...go for it.
Think twice, its a Hyosung, a company which left its love-child (Kawasaki-Hyosung/Mummy-Papppppa) GT-250R and Aquila in the hands (stairs) of local mechanics/e-bay and wot not.

if Tata can sell a 4 wheeler at 1.5 Lacs why not Honda can sell a 250cc bike at 1.5 Lacs ?? common Honda just do it....

        • Guys, Gals and Elders, please be cautious while talking about pricing. It seems many of the people are not sure what is in their favour and what is against them.

On its face, the engine seems to be more detuned than those of R-15 and CBR 150i (less power per cc) but a free revver than R-15. If we try to compare it with R-15 price (the main and only benchmark whose parts are brought in CKD and assembled here in India from the same country), then the price per Kg. and per cc of CBR 250 is around 1.20 and 1.70 lakh respectively in India OTR. So a middle approach of 1.50-1.60 lakh would be the balanced approach. Also, I don't know whether pouring of additional grams of molten metal for bigger engine blocks make the bigger parts substantially costlier than the smaller one. Otherwise, CBR 250 engine is just as technically set up as R-15 engine is. No big difference.

          Be cautious guys!

              Wishful thinking....

If I were HMSI, looking at the benchmark set by Mojo (300cc Naked for 1.75, by an new player) I would charge a decent premium (price it around 2.5) and earn better margins
              I like 'em Naked

              Blah Blah Blah!

Reason is not automatic. Those who choose not to recognise it, can't be conquered by it.

              • Yes NOW WE ARE TALKING, a 250 from Honda stable would be good for us as the competition would be great

Are we talking about ex factory or ex showroom?

BTW, octroi, taxes and insurance on ninja was 40k. Base price 2.56 + 40 = 2.96k. It can't be 60k on a base price of 1.5 Lakhs.

2.5 Lakh for a single cylinder bike is a big NO NO.

                  • News across say "price will be maintained well below 1.5L", so the on road price should not exceed 1.75L. Agree with some of them who say, for a single cylinder price beyond 2L would not be appropriate. Only few parts including the engine will be imported for Indian market, rest will sourced locally ... So this is possible.

                      • Honda always aims for longetivity, never for a quick buck.
                        By pricing it at ~2L
                        - The R15s will continue to sell.
                        - The P220 would continue to sell
                        - The ZMA\ZMR would continue to sell
                        - The Mojo ... lol let it come first!

                        By pricing it at 1.5L
                        - The R15 is more or less dead, thanks to phat arse and new looks
                        - The P220 folks who bought it on full payment have something to look upto the ones who bough a cheap 220 bike where the cheapness prevailed the perfomance would continue buying it. The rest would be a scatter

                        - It kills the yet to rise bikes from indigenous manufacturers...

Honda MADE this bike with a 1.5L range in their mind.... I wonder why you guys are giving them a idea that it deserves to be priced more for any reasons!

                        - I might fall for it at that price...! it should be a nice touring machine (Though I would prefer a semi faired bike than this!)

CBR is just a name they gave... it doesnt deserve a tag of CBR250RR on it..
The original CBR250RR is a Inline 4, 16v engine... which revs up to 19000RPM.... this is a CB250r that honda added an extra R to dupe some/most of us.
