its not that simple just adding 30cc and increasing power from 21ps to 33ps whenever you like..Originally posted by Tron05 View PostNever understood guys here... By just hearing the word '250cc' many guys here start saying 2L is a very reasonable price. P220 is a 220cc bike turning out 21ps. Ninja is a 250 giving 33ps. Now the major difference between them is the engine. For having a 250cc bike all you have to do is make a engine having a displacement of additional 30cc than the p220.(not comparing here.how you do it depends on the manufacturer.single cylinder.. or watever).
P220 comes for 82k. Now add in costs for the better suspension, full fairing, discs..so on and still isnt it possible to price it below 1.5L and earn a good profit on volumes??
the reason for the Ninja 250 being priced what it is , is not only because its a 250 or a Kawasaki or imported, but also on the way its been engineered. it so thats why there Japanese sports bikes are priced high compared to the indian bikes
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Lol :POriginally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostBang on! For single cylinder the golden rule is 1ps per 10cc
i predicted the same in the previous thread and seems its all correct :P
a 250cc, single cylinder, even though sporting 4 valve with complete localization must must must and definitely cost less than 1.5 L. No doubt about it. (without ABS obv)
if less than 1.5L, this is it, this is THE BIKE for bike enthusiasts. thumbs up (all possible thumbs) for Honda.
I will surely book 1 under following conditions:
* CBR 150r is above 1.0L if launched
* fazer 250 is not here by that time.

Basic things aint that tech filled...
Things which are is the new is engine and C-ABS and PGM Fi...
So i dont see any reason as why the bike cant be at around 1.50lacs (ex showroom) without compromising quality if its MADE in INDIA ???
Its very much practical that the bike will come almost same as Mojo as on road, if its Made in India..

lets not compare all Japs together.
You have a Jap selling a monoshock 150cc for 60k, and 1 selling similar bike for around 75k.
Honda breaking up with Hero definitely means they are almost ready as a local player in India. Check their current line up and pricing. I agree we cant compare with Bajaj at all. NO
But yes, all the premium we will pay for a 250cc, 4valve, a Honda tag etc etc, will not cost more than 1.5L. this will be insanely stupid on Honda's side if they try to keep their flagship model above 1.5L

for all those doubting this price, ok dont compare this with P220, but compare it with ZMR. add all the goodies and see the pricing.

Wow, wow, bloody woooow!!
Great news that an affordable CBR is coming to India!
1.5 lakhs will be KILLER price for this beauty.
This news will result in many sleepness nights for me. I will contemplate selling my ZMR. Because CBR >>> ZMR
I am not disappointed with it not being in Ninja territory. My criteria is that it should be an everyday usage bike, not a weekend bike. By the looks of it, and the package it has, it definitely falls in that.
Waiting anxiously for confirmation on power and price!

[QUOTE=yellowspunk;517991]Lets all stop dreaming, complaining, speculating and take a moment of silence..
a minute in your life..
to pray the god damn bike is priced @ 1.5lac (atleast ex-showroom)!!
very rightly said yellowspunk....!
if a company like kawasaki has the "aukaaat" of pricing the Ninja 250 at 2.7 lacs + , then honda might as well try to play its " goodwil" card and try premium pricing.... 1.5 lac sounds unrealistic !!

I dont know why you guys are so much
over the price of the bike. Its after the introduction of the R15 that we are thinking 1.5 lac reasonable. If the R15 was not present then we would have said Ninja out of the roof & CBR over the roof. The normal 220cc's (karizma & p220) come at a price range of nearly 80k. So including all the tech & features the CBR is very much well priced. I dont think honda should increase the price any further if it is really serious about launching this bike in competition to R15.
But if the company is planning to increase the price for just the brand factor or something like that then thumbs down honda. I would rather like to go for a ninja.
BTW the bike is looking good but i would have loved it if would had got a fairing of the fireblade. The twin light design looks uber cool.NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT

So soon, a CBR250RR will be adorning one of our Honda two wheeler showrooms!
weee! Test ride!
lol seriously, I dont think there will be an end to new bikes coming into our country. Honda is just starting. Bajaj is luring in the Kawasakis and the KTMs, and also planning to release their own 250cc - 300cc bikes (rumour), Mahindra worked their 'Mojo' and speculations on the Yamaha Fazer 250 is also on.
This segment is just unfolding and we can expect a lot of sub 500cc sports bikes in our country in the near future. The buyer is just beginning to open his wallet beyond the 1 lakh mark and companies are trying really hard for that ''monies''
For those who WANT the bike, price isn't an issue (ninja, for example), and for those who care about the price will mostly be disappointed. I say, lets look at it as a new trend in the Indian bike segment. Its gonna do us all good
No point saying ''Bajaj P220 doesn't compare'' or ''Honda has more tech''... at the end of the day, every bike is someone's IDEA and a DREAM and we must respect his work and his balls for making one for real and putting it on the street. Bajaj and Hero taught India to ride bikes while Honda taught us to do it VERY FAST
. Respect both the sides of the coin.
This bike, looks very very good, and makes nice power. Should be fun to ride
Yay!
D'oh!
