The Tata nano was supposed to be the 1 lakh car..... but is it??? Even if Honda says the bike's gonna be cheap, the taxes and stuff will add up to be a lot...

      • 1.8 lacs !!

By the time it reaches my place it will be a total of 2 lacs(Waiting period means-Commuting by autos;sweat,;weight lost etc etc.)..Then I would have to spend some good money on new riding gears as well..Lets say 20-25k..nearly 2.5 lacs, right?

And then when someday I ride past a pro-biking showroom,I would feel like such an idiot!

BTW,the base model Nano costs 1.40 lacs,OTR! God,when Tatas couldn't keep their word,Honda will sure go a step ahead..
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

I am definitely not going for a CBR250RR.
yes Satya, the "hum" which an inline 4 creates, is itself worth lacs!
Every time i stand in the signal crossing, and an I4 stands beside me, my heart beats faster.

            • Well if the Honda guys can't get a good sounding engine into the bike I sure hope that it doesn't sound bad.... even a quite engine would do.

                    1.8 lac CBR 250R with C-ABS or 1.6 to 1.8 lac pre-owned Ninja 250R ????
(By knowing ninja can deliver 32.5 Bhp @ 11000 rpm)
                    Its completely on YOU. ....
                    Wise words!!!
One can buy a used 400cc or 600cc instead of a brand new Ninja 250!!!
Another example (a bit desi one), shall I buy a brand new pulsar 150 or a used R15!!!

                    • Re: engine sound. My take is, Ninja 250 sounds more or less like a four stroke single cylinder at given rpm. It will still go dub-dub-dub as they are four stroke parallel twin. In essence its firing cycle is same as single cylinder.

An in-line twin or straight two with have a more rapid firing making that dub-dub-dub twice as fast. An in-line four would still make the dub-dub-dub even faster that it would sound like one continuous beat like vvvvvvvvvv.

                      correct me if I'm wrong.

Whatever it may be. A V-Twin will/should sound better than a single cylinder.

                        • The GT650R seems to be a better deal for those who already have 200cc+ bikes here in india and are seeking some superbike feel.
The CBR250R is just not powerful enough considering the fact that some people don't find even the Ninja 250R to be powerful enough!!!
Thats NOT neon glow under my ride you fool, thats cherenkov radiation!!!!!

Right! Now only Bajaj (and HMSI) could understand its worth.
