Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Or even less since the Indian ones will have MRF's!
and who knows...the brakes will probably be ByBre or something...they will try maximum localization!

      • 1.5-1.6 OTR price and HMSI will laughing its way to the bank for some time atleast! Atleast they are gonna take my money for sure

This bike is like jack of all trades, a capable tourer, rideable enough for bumper to bumper traffic (I have experienced Bangkok's traffic and its terrible) and will set a decent lap if you are game to take it to a track. And the contemporary VFRish looks, full fairing, the awesome looking console, fat rear tire gives it enough oomph and poser value as well!

IMO, R15 isnt its competition neither the Ninja 250R. This little Ceeber will be a segment creator if its launched at the speculated price. And HMSI should be able to price it at that price if they are gonna manufacture it here. A higher price tag just doesnt justify what it offers.

P.S. I expect BAL to come up with a Pulsar 250 priced at around 1.2 - 1.3L by April '11

        Cheers,

The bike except for larger mill & great design does not pass r15 which also has a superior frame advantage
Good point. I'd say below 2 is a good price. But it's based as a Sports Tourer and not exactly a track ready bike. So i don't think it should be compared to the R15. But if the R15 had a 250cc mill with the rest of the bike married to the current spec, then it would have definitely had an edge over the 250R. Hope Yamaha's listening

I don't know about r15 coming with a 250 cc mill but a r15 costing 90k on road is surely coming in the next 4-6 months but this is going OT now

he is referring to the imminent price reduction of the R15 by Yamaha to face off Honda's 1.5l rs 250cc bike.. its speculation.

                        • if u want to say on pricing practically on this bike ... its lil too overpriced [if its a 1.5lac] .. as some post back ... some one mentioned about .. the ordinary body frame , chasis/suspension/normal tail light/etc/etc .. only engine capacity is high and nothing more .. now comp the same with current honda bikes ... and after localisation .. also if its 1.5 lac.. then its surely a lil over priced bird [don;t comp with R15 price here,..]..

still i like to put my money on GT250R .. quality surely not bad at all ..as many say ..even today the decade old comet are roaring without any prob .. and guess wt today's improved comets will last longer

                          • Why is it a big deal to have 27 patents? They'll run the brake cable through the tubular frame and call it a patent...

My point is, we shouldn't give the bike total priority just because its got patents to its name. Patents are just claims to have done something new and owning the right to do :P Doesn't really have to be good for us

                            • I was planning to change my bike next January'11 to R15 or if any upgraded ZMA is launched before then.

But after I saw the pics and the Specs of the HONDA CBR250R, I am ready to wait another 4-5 months for it.. Also as MG_Biker sir has mentioned that the price should be around 1.5-1.7L, so I am pretty much interested to buy the bike on that price..

And I no way feel it as overpriced @1.5L.. If RE Classic 500 can cost 1.4L which is made in India and does not have any latest/extra ordinary technology, then how can we complain on the price of the CBR250R which has many better features and technologies than RE Classic??

                              • Why don't we guys wait until this arrives? Why so much so on the pricing and taxes?..One guy says,it would be for 1.5 lacs..other comes around from nowhere and slaps taxes on it saying it'd be for around 1.75 lacs..and then there's C-ABS and localisation...Better speculate on the performance of this bike?

Wondering if the 150R could do 160kmph..how much will this bigger 250 do on full-bore throttle??..

160kmph is Ninja rivaling and, that for a 150 is too good..

I am sure it'd better Ninja if we get the same specs as that of Thai make..
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!
